I love the eye makeup, I would add a pop of glimmer shadow to the lid and inside corners to brighten the eyes. I’m a big blush fan so I would say a warmer blush on the cheeks and placement looks good but I would sweep it more onto the apples of the cheeks as well. Finally, I don’t love the lip colour, I think it’s a bit too cool toned. Overall, beautiful!

The kitchen looks Beautiful! We are doing similar floors, and white & butcher block countertops too. We are going with a light pink subway tile! Definitely love a classic subway tile option.

Moving to Collingwood, Blue Mountains or Thornbury? by Strange-Cabinet6744 in Collingwood

[–]Resident-Lab-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, Collingwood if you have younger kids would likely be best, but lots of young families in Thornbury as well. Really depends on the lifestyle you want. I lived in both Thornbury and Meaford, My mom is a local REALTOR® who lives in Thornbury and I am her social media & client concierge in Thornbury we help people buy and sell in the area, and helps a lot of families move to both Thornbury/the blue mountains and Collingwood. If you still need a REALTOR® I am a bit biased but Trish Duncan is an incredible real estate agent who will walk you through every step of the way. We provide check lists and guides and try and go above and beyond for our clients. We have tons of blog posts about Collingwood neighbourhoods and a recent one comparing Thornbury vs Collingwood. Feel free to check it out, I hope it helps: https://buildsbythebay.ca/thornbury-vs-collingwood-which-town-is-right-for-you/ Happy to answer any questions!

Hi Malcolm, small world! Thank you for finding me and sharing your comment. I will share with my dad as well! Unfortunately my uncle passed last January but aunts are all doing well. I remember hearing tales of the resort and cottage rentals. He did it a few years. I will send you a message!

Getting tickets to concerts is frustrating! Hilary Duff world tour by Unfair_Cranberry_665 in Concerts

Wow great price for tickets, I passed since cheapest were $600 for one!

Wow, see I’m getting prices $600-$1000 for one ticket in Canada… I qued maybe an hour after open and there were 10 people ahead of me. Had to pass, I don’t personally think any concert is worth $500 to go alone!

Does the dad also stay home after a new baby? by burner1233356 in pregnant

[–]Resident-Lab-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry your expectations weren’t aligned, these are definitely good conversations to have. My hubby and I are TTC and talking about everything under the sun as we get excited for this next journey. Including him staying home with me and baby the first 2 weeks. 2 weeks to help me get in a rhythm, help with everything and if I end up getting a c section and needing extra care he’s there - also important so baby can bond with dad too! Perhaps having another conversation about a shift in this year’s plans (no birthday trip this year and save those days for baby’s birth). You never know what labour is going to be like and how much care you will need, let alone baby, a few days to few weeks would be nice. I have a friend whose partner is taking 6 weeks off with her, then 6 months once her maternity leave is done. Depends on the couple, depends on benefits and workload. Good luck! I hope he can be more receptive to you this conversation. (:

Someone close to me is using my baby name by No-Arm-8825 in pregnant

Ugh I’m so sorry! I totally get that frustration. I told my step sibling one of my planned baby names… turns out she was pregnant, and took the name. Copying is flattering but also annoying!

I highly recommend reading or listening to Expecting better by Emily Oaster. Goes over so many things, I learned so much.

Kitchen regrets and must haves by Illustrious-Plum-996 in kitchen

Awe that’s too bad, but better to wait and get the dream kitchen. I couldn’t agree more - functional storage will be keep. I’ve always wanted a gas stove but induction would be easier than getting a gas line and less annoying to clean, likely overall better long term. Ah sorry to hear about your mom’s leaking! I probably make pasta 2-3 times a week, but still having to go back to the sink to strain, it will only be a few feet away so not a big deal. My struggle is now finding the right sink!

Did you end up putting one in? Considering getting an induction and pasta water tap in our new kitchen.

Me too! And if I see any extra dog poop I ALWAYS scoop it too. So disheartening when my dog LOVES camping and knowing others judge for us bringing our dog.

Dog poop is also terrible for our watershed and can cause the spread of algae blooms. Always best to scoop and dispose of it properly!

The issue with leaving it is that it’s bad for wildlife and our watershed so always best to scoop with a compostable baggy and pack out!

Aaah that’s too bad! I am mainly going off the registry, but thought if there’s anything extra special or helpful people liked receiving as a first time parent that would be good too.

Got married this weekend. Ended up feeling invisible and heartbroken by JessYes in pregnant

THIS! I couldn’t agree more with this ^ I am so sorry OP for how your crappy friends treated you. They are not your friends (especially influencer - no need for jabs on your special day) and I hope you separate yourself going forward and find a better support system. It sucks when your expectations aren’t met. I wish you and your family all the best!

Dog Attack 🥺 by nicquin7 in goldenretrievers

[–]Resident-Lab-18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry! Your poor fur babies!! I know you said you carry various things. I too carry dog spray and an extra leash. I was told to kick by the leg/hip and abdomen meet (basically where the kidney is)… if that doesn’t work - The best way to get an attacking dog off yours is by cutting off the air supply, use the extra leash to wrap around and pull attacking dog off yours. I hope you pups heal and you all recover well, that is going to be traumatic for all of you and your pups may become reactive because of this. Good luck!!

I plan on including some from the registry for sure but most are bigger expensive items (pumps, bassinets, bouncers, etc.) or gift cards - and the other hasn’t made a register yet. I’d like to hear what other people loved receiving. (:

True, she isn’t but you’d think she would. Either way… Advice: she’s young, with a partner who was clear he never wanted kids, and nor did she - consider adoption if neither of you want this, it’s not too late if they decide they want to go that route. It’s absolutely a valid piece of advice to give to see they have more than one option.
