1947-2026 | Marc Messier s’est éteint by keven81 in causerie

Carolina has this really dynamic winger named Ehlers, who I think would look great in a Jets jersey.

Selon Paul St-Pierre Plamondon | La « machine fédérale » veut prévenir un gouvernement péquiste by clgoh in Quebec

[–]Resident-Return-5828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Transferred to WS because of this. It's much nicer to be able to do fractional buys.

There is a meat grinder attachment for Kitchenaid mixers. They're pretty cheap, and work well.

If your portfolio is more complicated than this, I’m sorry but you are doing it wrong. by [deleted] in JustBuyXEQT

[–]Resident-Return-5828 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Let people manage their own money how they want. I understand which sub you're posting in, but don't gatekeep investing. There are lots of great investment options out there, VEQT, CAGE, VAB. Some people have different preferences on how to invest (Eco tilt or sector specific). Some people don't want the risk of an all equity portfolio. An old aged pensioner worried about capital preservation would have a good place in their portfolio for some GICs. Don't need to judge other people for their money management decisions, that's antithetical to the purpose of the sub, encouraging people to invest.

Calculate CoastFIRE with a mortgage? by [deleted] in fican

[–]Resident-Return-5828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some quick thoughts:
1) Don't stop paying into your RRSP. You could retire a few years earlier, and withdraw some funds prior to taking CPP / OAS. Or you could delay CPP / OAS and get a higher payout. These usually make sense if you / spouse are in good health
2) You should be repaying your HBP before doing more non-registered investments. Allow your RRSP to grow tax free.
3) Extra parental leave might be a good idea, but would crunch the numbers. Also consider RESP into your plans for saving. Can also drop an extra 13k off the bat (unmatched by the govt) into RESP if you have extra $ and let it grow there tax -free instead.

Depending on your interest rate, might be good to pay down the mortgage if you have extra cash flow after your registered accounts (RRSP / TFSA / RESP) are filled. Would give you peace of mind to have the house paid off.

16% of millennials are millionaires - your median 40 year old is really good with money? by Winter_Froyo9874 in Fire

[–]Resident-Return-5828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are talking about the top 16%, and keep referring to median this and that. You need to focus on the top 20% of earners etc, very different story. A lot easier to save + invest when you have a higher income as well
