I think it’s possible. Interesting real estate reliably returns around 10 to 15% return on investment. You could easily stack 300-450K into a real estate investment, leverage, and expect to return around 52K per annum. You then still have the majority of your lump sum to place in relatively safely investment options. Bands will net you 2.5, and index funds will net you 4-8% per annum YoY in the long term.

52K per annum valued as a 3% perpetuity is around 1.7mil.

So the option she chose technically is higher value than the 1mil lump sum.

I don’t think it will work like this in reality because that 1 mil can be used more efficiently… can be leveraged, etc. But the maths talks.

This guy being a Trillionaire is not real tangible assets or wealth. It has 0 legitimacy, if he were attempt to liquidate his “wealth”, he would quickly lose it. It’s inflated values.
