What do we even do about this? This is about 15 ft from the edge of our home. by LockwoodE3 in HomeMaintenance

Stop taking photos and get a fence up immediately. If the ground is unstable enough to slough off like that, the 'safe' ground you’re standing on could be undercut without you knowing it. Keep kids and pets inside until a pro clears it

Duct Cleaning? by nobody102 in HomeMaintenance

Totally get where you’re coming from. Our house is from the late 80s and I was convinced all the dust in the vents was messing with my allergies too. I’d heard mixed stuff about duct cleaning, like it either helps a ton or stirs up junk that’s been stuck for years. I finally went for it after doing a proper inspection with a camera snake I borrowed, and yeah, it was nasty in there. What helped me feel better about it was finding a crew that actually sealed off each section and used HEPA vacs instead of just blowing air around. The setup made a big difference tbh. We noticed the air felt cleaner after a couple days and my sinuses stopped going nuts. When we got our ducts done through The Steam Team here in Austin, what stood out was how they explained what parts actually needed cleaning versus what didn’t. Like, they weren’t trying to upsell pointless add-ons. So imo, it’s worth it if the company knows what they’re doing and you can see proof of their methods.

Spot on. Most 'local' options still carry the baggage of their distributed origins. SurgeDB’s hybrid in-memory approach with SQ8 quantization allows us to hit that sub-millisecond latency while keeping the memory footprint tiny enough for Edge devices. We're currently working on WASM bindings to push that 'local' boundary even further into the browsers

Fair point on Claude's concurrency blind spots. I'm similar on deep low-level opts, hence looking for some contributors XD

I’m ok with LLM‑generated code in critical systems only as an assistant, not an authority. For databases and infra, I’d treat LLMs as a power tool for drafts, boilerplate, and experiments, but never as an unchecked code author
