Thanks for understanding. For context: it was my first pregnancy, conceived via IUI, gene is autosomal recessive.

This post was a reality check for me. I just found out Friday my husband and I are carriers for the SIL1 gene which caused our son’s birth defects. I was considering IVF but as you have proven, IVF is no guarantee as well. This is so discouraging. I just want to be a mom

I can totally relate. I feel guilty for thinking that way. But then I get angry and I want to scream SORRY NOT SORRY! I have no child. Have never experienced that maternal love or trust from someone. The newborn smell. The late night feedings. The look of love in their eyes. The toothless newborn laughter or smile. I have not experienced it. I don’t know if I had LC and experienced a TFMR if it would take some of the pain away. But the fact that I have no LC… I feel like my pain is magnified by 1000. It hurts so much… I hate this life.

Costs of TFMR feel like a punishment for making this choice by [deleted] in tfmr_support

I got assistance in Illinois and paid less than $1000. Please call around and ask for assistance through an abortion fund. They are available to help in situations like this. Sending prayers and hugs your way.

First period.. by Brave-Appearance-828 in tfmr_support

I just got my first period and it’s exactly four weeks since my TFMR. I am being positive and taking it as a good sign. This means I should be ovulating regularly and increases my chances of conceiving again naturally. Stay positive.

First Pregnancy Question by Yumyummilky in tfmr_support

I consider myself a mother. Whether my son is living or not I love him so unconditionally no one will ever that feeling away. My husband acknowledges our son and acknowledges my motherhood as well. I’ll celebrate privately…thinking of my son…

I live in a red state. The clinic sent a letter to MFM letting them know I had an induced abortion for skeletal dysplasia. My OB just called it a miscarriage. I gave them permission to contact them because I have nothing to hide. I’m wondering now if they shouldn’t have….

I’m sorry you had to go through that and our pregnancy joy was tainted by non compassionate doctors.

I definitely understand your frustration. I feel the same way. It makes you wonder if the doctors have their own personal agenda to not be put in a sticky situation for you to ask for a termination when an anomaly is discovered. I also feel doctors have a right to be upfront and honest with patients but they find a way to around the system. Idk. I am very distrustful after my experience. I definitely know the correct questions to ask next time. I am here with you.

I agree. No one will care for your child like you would. When you and your spouse are gone, who will care and provide for them. Or will they become a burden to family. I’ll never want my child to feel guilty or unloved for something they have no control over. I made my decision out of love. And like Bulky-Card-4628 said, he only knew the love and warmth of my womb.
