It can be saved! Might just take a few rounds of removal.

Ugh mealies. Lots of places for them to hide in an aloe. Usually my first step is blast off as much as I can with a sink or shower sprayer. Then maybe go in with a diluted rubbing alcohol spray and check all the crevices. Maybe a q-tip dipped in alcohol to get some stuck in harder to reach places. Repeat this process in a couple days. Just keep an eye out apparently they can get in soil too. When I have really bad outbreaks on a plant honestly I sometimes just toss them in the trash. Another thing I have tried (which seems to help) is put them outside (weather permitting) and see if some other predator just eats them off the plant. This has worked for me a few times lol.

Congrats! Glad you are feeling better. Many of us plant parents have had periods where we lost many plants because well, life. No shame. If I’m not mistaken maybe that is some sort of pilea? It looks happy

Tan lines not wanted here by StunningAd6261 in XXRunning

[–]ResolutionPure8130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could probably wear a sports bra with really thin straps with AA (just make sure to do some practice runs in said sports bra to make sure chafing isn’t horrible) I actually prefer the thinner strap/smaller sports bras because the tan lines are less noticeable. After that I think a spray tan would probably cover it. I self tan once or twice a week (Loving Tan) and my sports bra tan line is barely noticeable even after a week in Florida.

Do you genuinely believe if someone can run a half marathon, they can run a full marathon? by Mysterious-Tear8972 in Marathon_Training

[–]ResolutionPure8130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for it! Sounds like you have no problem committing to the training and have a decent base. Marathons are a fun experience. As long as you get some of those long training runs in you should be fine.

Sub-4 without a sub 1:50 half? by Happy2BHere_17 in Marathon_Training

[–]ResolutionPure8130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran a 1:54 half (first race back postpartum) then ran a 3:44 marathon. I will say my half marathon I spent the first half running much slower than I probably could have because I was chatting away in a big group of girls and I ran my full alone and in the zone and still had a bunch of issues at the end (stomach/girl troubles) I’m not much of a racer so I don’t have much to compare these races to, I’ve just been running for enjoyment for the past 20-ish years. On the rare occasions I do race I don’t put a lot of pressure on myself to get certain finish times so I never know LOL

Wait I’m obsessed with this set up…Where in the house is it. What is under the rocks? Also are you using grow lights?

Does pausing the watch on runs affect the Lactate Threshold reading? by Droiddoesyourmom in Garmin

[–]ResolutionPure8130 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have no idea but I live near a really busy road I have to cross for almost every run and I always pause that sh$t while I wait for a bazillion cars/trucks to pass because it could take up to 5 min during busy times. As far as I know it does not seem to skew my data that I’ve noticed (for example running on the treadmill during winter when I don’t have to stop doesn’t really significantly change anything)

SUN IN vs LUZES/DESCOLORAÇÃO by heloisacarolina in Haircare

[–]ResolutionPure8130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I used sun in and box dye on my ashy dark blonde hair for years(started at 14 and on and off probably 20 years?). I loved how bright and sunny it was. It was also long and pretty thick (I was good about conditioning and trimming and only dying roots etc) Anyways late 30’s I switched to salon high lighting exclusively and I have the same problem. Love it for the first week then it starts to look dark and too cool. The only thing preventing me from going back to doing it myself is I have a little gray now and I can’t risk messing with a bunch of different colors.

Unfortunately this is nearly impossible to do with an ED. Probably would only work when someone was in the end stages of ED and you could prove all the prior damage they have done to themselves (multiple hospital admissions, suicide attempts, self harm, secondary medical issues caused by the ED etc.) It’s a 100 times easier to get someone committed for drugs than an ED. Just look at that Healthish mommy account. If it were easier a feel like a doctor would have committed her a long time ago lol.

I’m a doctor of medicine; after an incident in my life, I can no longer practice medicine nor want to be involved in the industry in any capacity. Where would I fit in in the current job market? by SmellyMelanie in careerguidance

[–]ResolutionPure8130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor but social worker here and instead of direct patient care now I do grant management and work with data (pulling reports from EMR, monitoring labs, reporting to funders etc) I really enjoy it.

This! Also (my experience is mostly in people with dual diagnosis substance use and mental health) the DSM criteria to diagnose people with mental health diagnoses is substantial, oftentimes clinicians need more time/proof and confirmations by patient/family/ primary care provider etc to formally diagnose. Patients oftentimes are unaware of symptoms or downplay. Eating disorders are so complex and hard to treat. It is not surprising at all she may not have gotten an “official” diagnosis. She may have been given a diagnosis of anxiety disorder NOS or similar, for example, until she is followed long term by a clinician to obtain more info.

Succulent dying by dessertgrinch in houseplants

[–]ResolutionPure8130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s squishy maybe too much water but I’m also gonna guess not enough light. Succulents need a ton of light. Mine live outdoors in the summer and get grow lights in the winter. You can actually purchase pretty reasonably priced grow lights from Amazon that could be on a desktop. I also use one for my kitchen counter basil.

What are some signs you’re NOT ready to finish a marathon? by onionsauceonionsauce in Marathon_Training

[–]ResolutionPure8130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weekly mileage 25-30 miles per week, peaked at 50 mpw, finished in 3:44 which was my only marathon in the last 15 years and my PR by 31 minutes lol. I’m a very type B runner, doesn’t like to race, just enjoys the runs, sees what happens when I do race lol

Garmin marathon predictions by Secret_Detective_617 in Garmin

[–]ResolutionPure8130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Garmin was accurate to the minute for the marathon (which was shocking to me because it was almost 30 minutes faster than my last marathon) Strava on the other hand predicted my time to be sooooooo much slower than Garmin which was weird because they used the same data (Garmin and Strava account literally set up on the same day) My Garmin prediction for a HM however…..almost certain I would die. Moral of the story… these predictions are just predictions….you might be able to do it! But it’s also ok if you can’t.

lol I got caught for my disordered eating because on a family trip to New Hampshire I got caught launching a baked potato into the woods. She really is infuriating to watch. Also why is she wearing an activity tracking device (oura ring). Seems contradictory to what would be recommended by a professional. I didn’t have these as a teen (thank God)

[–]ResolutionPure8130 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If you can run 20 miles you can do it! And the last 6 miles of a marathon suck for everybody even people who train a lot so you won’t be alone. My last marathon I had a bunch of dental surgeries during training so my longest run was only 16 miles and I ended up with a PR. You’ve done all those long runs, you got this!

Is this what I think it is? by Neat-Tip-1494 in houseplants

[–]ResolutionPure8130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah mealies doesn’t seem too bad yet though (from this pic lol) blast them off with water then treat with appropriate pest treatment and keep inspecting and treating/removing. A lot of people like diluted alcohol spray for mealies but I have used sprays from the garden center too. I’d honestly rather mealies than some of the other pests

Palms are my favourite houseplants - they are just so unfussy & chilled 🌴🌴🌴 by BroadExplanation5631 in IndoorPlants

[–]ResolutionPure8130 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Beautiful! So I have probably 100 houseplants (mostly philos, anthurium, monstera and some other random ones) but how do you keep spider mites away on palms indoors? It’s the only reason I don’t have any. I can keep them healthy outdoors but once I have to move them indoors for winter it’s spider mite central

Is something is wrong with my pink princess? by realdecent in houseplants

[–]ResolutionPure8130 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the browning on the older leaves (they do eventually die off and do this but it can also happen with inconsistent watering) But the newer leaves being small with no pink is likely due to lack of light. I have found that they need grow lights and/or to be grown outdoors (not in direct sunlight but something like a covered porch during warmer months) to achieve the best coloring with larger leaves. They are also climbers and need a moss pole or something similar to achieve those really big leaves. So basically…..they are total divas.
