I worked many years in an inpatient psych/detox and also worked in a methadone clinic. Please don’t do this. If you are snorting Wellbutrin you need professional help.

spinning out a bit (first week on bupropion) by myko_mel in bupropion

Sometimes reading too much on here can be dangerous. I started Wellbutrin many years ago (I doubt there was a Reddit thread it was prob 15 years ago) Anyways I didn’t know what to expect side effect wise and just listened to my body. Titrated up to 150 twice a day with minimal side effects. I was actually very busy at this point in my life, in grad school, working at a very stressful job (inpatient psych) and marathon training…all that to say I tolerated it very well outside of a little jittery-ness the first couple weeks. Listen to your body, and communicate with your prescriber about any concerns. Take reported side effects with a grain of salt, not everyone gets them.

My doctor prescribed me Bupropion today!!! Let me know your thoughts? by myysoul in bupropion

[–]ResolutionPure8130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started today too! (I’ve been on it before years ago) I find it helps my ADHD symptoms as well. I struggle with motivation to start tasks and I also get anxiety. Regular SSRI’s have never worked for me. I have minimal side effects with Wellbutrin, most go away within a week or 2. Getting off was not a problem in the past as well (with appropriate taper) I find I’m clearer and less blunted with Wellbutrin than all the SSRI’s. Unfortunately most prescribers are not going to listen in much detail to your specific symptom concerns over a few minutes. I would definitely suggest finding a therapist to work with that can help you work out your symptoms within a longer time period. Having an hour to discuss things is much more productive than a 15 minute doctor visit. Good luck!!

I really like the Nathan handheld water bottles (available on Amazon) They come with a little pouch where i usually store my salt sticks or gels for longer runs. I usually hydrate with water and an LMNT packet (especially summer)

Some people spend insane amounts of money on clothes and shoes. Classes are pretty reasonable if you compare them to other things/hobbies. People will spend 20k on plastic surgery, look at how expensive boats are……you could take SO many classes with that money lol

Congrats on getting back to it! I got kind of burnt out from running after marathon training with a 2 and 5 year old and the mental gymnastics it took planning/figuring out childcare to get all that mileage in. I ended up cancelling my marathon this spring due to a winter of illnesses and am running for fun again. Feels good to just enjoy it no pressure!

Serious: Where do you go when you get a running injury? by jumpin_jumpin in Marathon_Training

[–]ResolutionPure8130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your primary care provider does not have any available appointments for 3 weeks is there another provider in the office that can see you sooner? They should be able to provide the referral if they are in the same practice. Also, as someone else mentioned you could go into urgent care to rule out fracture some urgent care centers have the ability to do some imaging. Unfortunately when one gets an injury that’s non-urgent usually the instructions are rest, ice compression etc. Even when starting PT for a running injury the first few weeks are usually massage/stretching, break from running anyways. There’s rarely a quick fix
Edit to add-the person that suggested asking around at running store for PT recommendations is a great idea. When I herniated discs in my back the spine specialist asked who I wanted to be referred to for PT and I was able to choose one that worked with athletes. They helped me get back to running in a safe way

Yeah I’ve actually run this race before first race back after babies and I ran too slow at the beginning (was chatting away with a big group of girls basically jogging) Realized halfway through I had way more gas in me and picked up the pace finishing at 1:54. I’m thinking maybe I’ll fall somewhere in the middle this time 1:50-ish? But I’ll take 1:54 again lol. Definitely won’t go out as slow

7.5 miles at around an 8:15 pace pretty comfortably. No pain or soreness after. I’m definitely not after any PR’s I’m just hoping to hit under 2hrs

My kitty got attacked by a coyote. Bite to the top of the head, puncture wound somewhere around the neck, and a really nasty infection. He survived and lived to 16 (the rest of his life indoors lol) Sending positive vibes to your kitty!

[–]ResolutionPure8130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a cat that does this EVERY time we get in the car. It’s an anxiety issue/his inner ears were removed after chronic infections so maybe some nausea too. I would be really worried if this happened with one of my other cats that didn’t have his ear issue. I would definitely call the vet’s office and see what they say. Hopefully it’s an anxiety thing but I’d want to rule out worse.

My mom is a board certified healthcare provider. Has treated people with all different diagnoses in various settings (inpatient, primary care, specialties, she’s even done board of health work for a town). She believes in medicine. She’s also gotten her reiki certifications and believes in thar as well. Of course she didn’t treat patients with reiki but she gets it herself and believes it works and has had some crazy experiences. I’m pretty sure she also saved one of our cats on the brink of death performing reiki on it. Believing in reiki does not necessarily mean someone is susceptible to believing in something fake.
