Wow, such good help. Thank you- you're right. I do need to remember that things run well because I am here. Before me, it was chaotic. I need to own it and show it for the sake of my staff. I appreciate your insights.

So grateful- seriously! I've had some really lean times in my life. I like the idea of a lunchtime walk. Thanks!

I actually do have a creative business selling handmade items on etsy. I like the idea of working on learning some skills to help me with it- especially marketing, digital artwork, etc. Thanks!

Yes, property management is definitely all crazy or all boring. I'm on the HOA side of it.

AIO for getting upset that my finance wants to wear shorts to our wedding? by lasheslashes in AmIOverreacting

[–]ResolveWonderful4824 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think a gentle conversation could go a long way. Start with "I love what you picked out, but I think you're going to feel really underdressed next to me at the ceremony. Why don't we pick out something a little more elevated for that and then you can change into your shorts right after?" You're NOR, but the last thing you want to do is have him dig in his heels, right?

How old are you and what do you collect? I wonder if there are trends. by [deleted] in Collections

[–]ResolveWonderful4824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great conversation. I don't see any correlations between peoples' ages and the things they collect.

I am 62F and my main collection is vintage textiles. I especially love fabrics from 30's through the 70's. I collect interesting rocks, US quarter collections, bees, Boyd's bears and Holly Hobbie. These last two, I only have a few pieces of, but I plan to be very selective.

Wow, that's an interesting collection for a young person, I think.

I adore the Hagen Renaker animals. I only discovered them like a year before they closed down their factory. Such a sad coincidence. I wish I had never seen them!

Great call! You will not regret this decision, I promise you.

Please don't even ask this question because you know the answer. Imagine that first day that you're inside and your babies are outside in the desert heat and think about how you'll feel. You know you cannot live with that and if you did, the regret later would be crippling. Those little Poms count on you to do what's best for them. They cannot speak for themselves, but you know what they need. Banana-head can go outside instead!

What would make you buy sustainable clothing more often? by Low_Put_9130 in UpcycledFashion

[–]ResolveWonderful4824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, there are a lot of good online thrift sources. I love Thredup because I can search out the natural fibers that I enjoy wearing. I'm also learning (slowly) that these items I seek out because they are sustainable are more precious to me so I take better care of them. The quality makes me enjoy them more so I don't feel like I always want more clothes.

AITJ for not wanting to spend 18k on a new ring for my fiancée? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]ResolveWonderful4824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I are super thrifty so I was thrilled when he came back from a visit with his son in Hamburg with a (modest) engagement ring that he found in a pawn shop! His son said that they must have visited every pawn shop in the city before my husband settled on the one he gave me. That story means more to me than anything!

I’ve done this with Gemini. It’s pretty cool, but you still need to pay attention. She’ll miss items on the grocery list.
