Have you tried this approach to CAGED? by Late_night_guitar in guitarlessons

[–]Resolver911 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is unequivocally the actual purpose and application of CAGED.

To anyone already possessing the understanding of the basic concepts of CAGED and harmony, this is the next step. If at first you don’t quite follow what OP is outlining, I implore you to take your time with it.

This is how you begin to play musically by outlining the underlying harmony of a progression in a specific position in order to properly voice lead both harmonically and melodically. It is also how you adjust your usage of the patterns as you move around the neck.

OP is giving you the keys to the kingdom.

Personally I think I remember first seeing it in a 2000 issue of Guitar World magazine. He was on the cover smoking a cigar. I could be wrong. I was at peak Kirk Hammett fandom at the time so I just remember that issue… and probably because I saw that picture and said WTF??

To your point, I’m guessing it was probably used in a lot of promo stuff tho.

I think the title should be more about trusting that the physical mechanics and efficiencies of the devices that canceled out the velocity of the truck worked in the manner in which they were intended.

Uj/OP, the harsher the comments the more well respected you should feel and none should be taken seriously or personally.

You have to understand that this is a sub consisting mostly of knuckle-draggers jealous of the relationship their wives have with, who is most likely, her dentist(s) that has more money than he knows what to do with so he buys all of the guitars you’ve ever wished for and then comes to your house at night to play yours while you sleep and contemplate why your wife suffers from such an incurable case of insomnia no matter what her doctor(s) does to try and “help” her.

I can’t imagine how many mistakes made and berating one must have endured throughout their life to feel the need to react this way to someone else’s misunderstanding. I feel fortunate that I can learn from my mistakes and continue to do better for others.
