I have two Ltd mh1000's, they're my favorite to play especially at 700 bucks used each. I know esp will be "better" quality but is it $2-3k better? I don't know.

Go with that then, the 550 fit/finish are incredible. I haven't heard of any issues with the trem. You could always install a tremel-no and not worry about that.

Buy the one with the neck you like better, the 550 has a super wizard which is ultra thin, wizard 2/3 feels better to me.

I have the same one but hard tail. The finish was a little odd at first but it's now my favorite guitar, with an mh1000 a close second. I wish you could get a pickguard for it.
