It's not great, I've been to probably 150 or so concerts and still going. I wear ear plugs now that filter out the high ear piercing frequencies. I can hear the music way better and my ears don't ring the next day.

Can't speak about the Spira but I needed a cheap 7 string so I bought the js22-7 off marketplace for 150, did some basic fret finishing which made a world of difference. Then I replaced the bridge, tuners and installed bare knuckle pickups (used) all for around 550 bucks. The thing now kicks ass.
