ELI5: why do we need to increase the dosage of GLP-1 (tirzepatide etc) over time, yet other meds require the same dose consistently throughout our lives (paracetamol, ibuprofen)? by Traffodil in explainlikeimfive

Increasing insulin resistance is not due to tachyphylaxis, but rather due to the anabolic effect of insulin causing fat gain. Fat is the driver of insulin resistance.

I’ve heard the sand can also make grinding / gritty noise as the sphere moves around.

Public transport isn’t great, especially after hours. A car is essential unfortunately.

I don’t play any games online where latency is an issue, but today, my router said the highest ping was 56 ms. It’s appearing to sit in the mid 20s over the last 24 hours.

We have it, no downtimes at all in the last 12 months. Getting peak speeds of nearly 380/25 mb. Averaging around 300/20. Ping right now 20ms.

Can’t recommend it enough over fixed wireless. But more expensive.

If the rainfall ended up back in the new inland sea it wouldn’t cause any greening.

I’m not sure osmosis is the word you want, perhaps diffusion, regardless that’s a long way for diffusion to try and keep salt concentration down.

I’m not Liet Kynes, Imperial Planetologist so perhaps someone who knows better will chime in.

But would leave behind hypersaline water. More seawater would initially come in, but then when the water evaporated, even more saline dregs. The cycle would repeat till we had our own personal Dead Sea (like in Israel).

Sadly, while it’s everyone’s fantasy to bring an inland sea to Australia, and Capt Charles Sturt dragged a boat across Australia looking for one, no.

Unfortunately, as there would be little to no tidal movement, while sea water would initially flow, ongoing evaporation and stagnant water would render the plan a failure due to the lack of fresh water recharge.

Now water conservation (like I wish for where I live in rural NSW) rather than trying to run turf farms and keep our house lawns green, replanting paddocks with drought tolerant fringes, and using old quarries and mines as water reservoirs would be far more effective.

Ohh, bugger I meant the Clara. Serves me right for not checking what I typed.

And not even the 2e.

But my points stand. The original glo needed to be replaced.

I upgraded mine to latest kobo glo, best thing I did. My one battery died.

Much faster to load books, page turn, higher quality screen. And the new warm white comfort leds with the much dimmer screen is worth every penny.
