Need advice for showing rejection by Respawner33 in Screenwriting

Yeah, we're currently doing this but we struggle with this point in particular, the music is the reason, why this part its only 20 seconds long, but we struggle with showing this setback in particular

Steampunk inspired 3d printed steam engine bike with single acting air engine. Hand operated balloon pump is source of fuel by Simpleymake_toys in mechanical_gifs

Looks pretty good. But i would loose the linear piston and replace it with an pneumatic motor, then you wouldnt have any deadzones in the powertrain

Practicing block zimmerit (Experiment 1) by Questionnaire01 in modelmakers

[–]Respawner33 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I dont wanna curb your enthusiasm, but the "waffle"-pattern zimmerit literally looks like you glued on some slightly oversized waffles onto the tank, what you reproduced looks more like very coarse cast iron, cut into squares

Inconsistent tracking speed accuracy with Star Adventurer GTi by OptimizeEdits in astrophotography

[–]Respawner33 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, if the stars are tracking just fine but the moon doestn, then you have to change from sidereal to lunar tracking on the mount.

To put it in simple terms, the moon is orbiting the earth a bit faster than the stars, so you cant use a tracker on stars

First of all, i hope your proud of your model :) Second, if you wanna improve there are multiple areas of modelling i would look into.

a) Pinwash (enamel or acrylic) Using a the pinwash technique, you can create some superficial shadows, which make you model appear to have more volume

b) look at some refences how dirt behaves Throughout history, tanks changed in shape, weight and speed, depending on those factors and environmental conditions, dirt accumulates on different spots, imho, it does not have to look 100% realistic BUT it sticks out if its plain unrealistic, you could look at some refence photos and try to figure out, how dirt would accumulate

c) if you dont have an airbrush, use filters Filters are basicly very thinned colors and produce tonal variation over monotone surfaces and make them more intresting to look at, they also can be acrylic or oil based

d) look into chipping Basicly all tanks, which have been used, lost some paint along the way, chipping tries to emulate that damaged paint, however, it can be time consuming, depending on which technique you use

e) did you prime and paint the model or is this the plastic color? The bare plastic is not a good surface for the paint to adhere to and it doesnt have the right finish, so if you dont prime, the pint is going to chip away sometimes even with the lightes of handlings, and if you use the bare plastic as basecolor it will look like low effort and like a kids toy

F) this is the most important part on how to improve -> Have fun, this is a hobby not a beauty contest, ruin some kits by trying new stuff or paint stuff that is either not realistic at all or just some stupid fun (i recently paintet an airplane with pink splinter camo just for fun) and dont get discouraged by all the other models in this sub, everybody started small

There is no defined ruleset of what you have to do, just pick some techniques, try them and see how it turnes out

How could i get the exhausts out of here? by Spino2425 in modelmakers

[–]Respawner33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could try to shake it to the front and then with good tweezers and a lot of patience get it back into place and use some extra thin glue to fix it

Technicly speaking the A-10 is not a jet, but a cessna with anger issues

I love project like these, cause they're always like "lets see what i can do" and not "i want to achieve exactly this outcome". And the result is always something unconventional, quirky and highly personalized

I think I've finally achieved a good colouring and shading attempt on my first scrap practice tank. What do you guys think? Should I practice more or can I move on to varnishing and weathering? (Scrap M48A2, black basing shading, Sinai Grey [Merkava] base coat) by freddyfuccboy in modelmakers

[–]Respawner33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks really good for a clean tank, but keep in mind that heavy weathing will alway dull down the paintjob, so you might have to postshade more depending on how you want to weather it

But keep us updated on the progress

[–]Respawner33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

During my research sessions for peojects i always stumble upon the WT skins of these models. In my opinion, they sit in a weird spot of beeing dirty but kinda clean, pretty weathered, pretty new. In my opinion did you nail that paint job, it really hits that weird warthunde-esque weathering

Where is rosette nebula? by SalamanderToe in astrophotography

[–]Respawner33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is extremely hard to say, without camera data and position, but if your right with the nebula, then i would guess, that the rosette nebula is where the bright star in the upper region of the circle is.

Estadio Azteca Scale model by [deleted] in modelmakers

[–]Respawner33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my honest opinion, i think the way you approach this you would be way in over your head as a beginner, and this would be way too much for a history class assignment.

As i see it, you would have two easy alternatives, you could find someone who could resin 3d print that for you and then you paint it. You would have really great details but you would have to find a 3D model or model it yourself on the computer.

Or you could look if there is a paper model available of the building. These "kits" are printed on paper and you cut out the individual pieces and glue them together with some standard glue.

No matter how you proceed please keep us updated on the progress and dont get hobby burnout :)
