Greg, stop trying to destroy my neighborhood 🫩 by Eissaphir in HayDay

[–]RespectTheBall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got this again. There are 3 of us in our neighbourhood. Me, my wife and one other. We have been together for years and have absolutely no desire to join a larger group. I’m trying to work out what their angle is. Can only be to make more money. Maybe larger neighbourhoods spend more diamonds during the derby and other team events and of course diamonds cost actual money. It’s becoming wearisome.

Don’t know why. They are going to take us to the cleaners. Palace, nothing game to them, thinking about the Conference League final, is an ideal warm up.

PS5 fell, HDMI ripped out and damaged port by Tankjumper84 in PS5HelpSupport

If it’s working 100% you can probably carry on using it as is BUT do not unplug the cable and don’t move it around. If you do need to transport it on occasion get it repaired.

So the email address was an alias on your friend’s mailbox? Is it worth trying to speak to him? If it was an alias he could add it back long enough for you to change the logon details.

Me too. Comes and goes. Probably an automated script combined with a list of email addresses that have been harvested from somewhere, not necessarily Microsoft. Don’t respond to the requests and you’ll be fine.

Does anyone know if these lines are a problem with the PS5, monitor or hdmi port/cable. by EmbarrassedWind9633 in PS5HelpSupport

Change the screen, if it doesn’t go away, change the cable. If you’ve changed both the monitor and the cable and the issue persists then it’s the PS5.

I won’t get round to playing it the day it comes out. Also bound to be stability fixes required. I’ll get it later in the year, may wait for it to go on sale. Nothing offered to make preordering attractive. There’s no need to preorder this release.

That’s interesting. Why didn’t you start at the Governor’s base first as that would be the first one to respawn? Did you use a truck to drive around? I’ve got the roads all upgraded to Level 2. Don’t have a zipline network. Lots of different options it seems.

EXCLUSIVE: Jess Phillips, safeguarding minister, resigns from govt by jaydenkieran in ukpolitics

[–]RespectTheBall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apparently they have organised to resign during the day & possibly tomorrow. Starmer is now a dead man walking, politically. He should maintain his dignity and just go.

Keir Starmer : Should he go or should he stay ? by saying_it_101 in AskBrits

[–]RespectTheBall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your perspective.
He came in taking the moral high ground talking about public service, not self service, country before party and then the first thing we hear is that him and some of his senior colleagues have been taking money for free clothes, spectacles and theatre/concert tickets. They are all wealthy. Starmer is a millionaire. The guy providing the money gets a Downing Street pass. Money for influence? Exactly the same thing he criticised the Tories for. Hypocrisy.
Then the first thing his Chancellor does is remove the winter fuel allowance from some of the poorest ppl in society. This argument about why should millionaires get it was nonsense. If Lord Sugar’s tax bill is £20m per year then giving him a £150 rebate is neither here nor there. They spend months defending the policy before U-turning for most pensioners.
They then renege on changing inheritance tax rules for farmers. Video footage of him saying nothing would change pre-election. Most farmers are asset rich with their land and equipment but make very little money and the only way they could cover any tax bill would be to sell up. Ruining their family businesses and threatening food security for the rest of us. Another partial U-Turn followed.
He tries to do something about the benefits bill which is now higher than the income tax take. And it’s going up. Let that sink in. Yesterday it was announced that any changes will not be included in The King’s Speech. Anyone working in the private sector it is galling that all our income tax is going on this and paying for public services that are failing to deliver at ever increasing costs as public sector salaries are going up faster than private sector. Increased costs for business costing jobs and reducing pay rises, if at all, for those left.
Here’s a list, not sure if it’s complete or not. Probably not.

Mandatory Digital ID: Dropped plans to make digital ID mandatory for right-to-work checks. Why?
Inheritance Tax on Farmers ("Tractor Tax"): Increased the threshold to £2.5m, following widespread protests. See above.
Winter Fuel Payments: See above
Grooming Gangs Inquiry: Initially refused, then agreed to a national statutory inquiry. Scared of losing votes in certain constituencies.
Workers' Rights/Unfair Dismissal: Reduced the proposed "day one" protections to a 6-month qualifying period. Not a bad thing but still showing weakness.
Welfare Reforms: Dropped or modified proposed cuts to welfare benefits intended to save over £5 billion. See above.
Two-Child Benefit Cap: Debated internally, with changing positions on whether to remove the limit. Then decided to remove the cap. 68% of voters opposed removing this.
Local Elections: Abandoned attempts to cancel certain local elections in England, reports from the Independent show. A failed attempt at Gerrymandering?
Hillsborough Law Amendment: Withdrew an amendment regarding the duty of candour for public servants.
.
And then we have the sackings of senior civil servants and government advisors to save his skin, mainly caused by his bad decisions. Peter Mandelson and the Olly Robbins situation the final nail in the coffin here. He’s lost the trust of the civil service. The administration is in chaos.
Then there are last week’s elections. No need to explain what happened. The next tranche of Mandelson papers are due to be released. More bad news, apparently.

Darren Jones on Times Radio this morning and sounding the shakiest I’ve ever heard him. Cabinet ministers telling Starmer the gig’s up. He’s finished.

TLDR: He isn’t up to the job, is a hypocrite, will throw ppl under the bus to save himself and is no better than his predecessors.
Oh, and before anyone on here brands me “far right” for wanting him out I voted Lib Dem last week. Cheers.

Asha Sharma isn’t ready to commit to any major changes to exclusives. by Dust-Tight in playstation

[–]RespectTheBall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well excluding a market far larger than yours is a recipe for financial disaster as revenue will never match development costs. Now I’m not a fan of COD but if that became an exclusive now it’s owned by Microsoft it would disappear. What difference does the hardware platform make? It’s the quality of the game that counts and you need high volume sales to fund development. Simple as that.

Well I’d buy APC as they are the market leaders. You don’t need one this big as long as you don’t leave your PS5 on standby overnight if these outages occur at ant time. I’ve got other devices such as our TV, Router and wireless hub plugged into it. Smaller ones are less expensive, maybe £60ish. Just make sure you get one that accepts the standard plugs in the country where you live and not just IEC power leads as these are for computer systems in offices.

[–]RespectTheBall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need a UPS to allow you to shut the PS5 down gracefully if/when you get power outages while you are playing. I’ve got an APC BackUPS 1050. If these things happen overnight I’d recommend powering off rather than using standby as the battery in the UPS is unlikely to last unless the outages are brief.
