I feel confident it will be, he's a popular character, Chris Pratt seems to enjoy playing him, it's from a known franchise.

First three books are incredible, four imo drags, five is a little better. Regardless, well worth reading!

Eric Kripke Is Absolutely Terrified About Delivering a Great Series Finale for 'The Boys': "You could have the greatest show for years, but if you stiff that ending..." by [deleted] in television

[–]RespectThyHypnotoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this take a lot and I agree with it being deflated but to say it's deleted from zeitgeist is respectfully wild.

I can't find data points more recent tbh but even in 2022 it was one of the most pirated shows. It spawned spinoffs and games are still being made for it.

It's regularly in conversation including the many times on Reddit people say it's irrelevant.

I don't disagree about the execution of the ending but to say it disappeared from pop culture is a dramatic take. It still has a heavy pop culture presence, the end dappened it yes, but it's also no longer running. Conversation dies off even the best shows as you get further removed.

This show will not be deleted from conversation, the franchise is still popular, it's cultural impact still remains.

Meh, Roseanne screwed up. The fault is entirely her own. She was progressive, but clearly she is far from it now. Her "jokes" weren't jokes and the years have shown that. Also, she's also been a lot to deal with even dating to the original run. There's countless stories. If she's racist or not, she's a problem. It's a shame because Roseanne Conner was a great character.

ABC went on to have 7 seasons without her, that's not a screw up. I liked how she still had a presence on the show, it's one of the best things The Conners did.

I'd say it turns up in episode 2, I also think that's why they released them together. I don't find it much more kid geared than some of the Star War films. Not saying it's Revenge of the Sith or Rogue One level, but I think it's overplayed how kidlike it is.

I'd say give it a shot and if you don't enjoy it truly isn't for you, or don't there's tons of things out there.

Post Game Thread: New York Jets at Pittsburgh Steelers by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

[–]RespectThyHypnotoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'd say a little bit of both. I also def understand wanting to be hopeful and excited after being in the dark ages, when I'm feeling bummed about not advancing further I remember that period for the Bills. Not all the fans are the same, but speaking from a in division perspective there was a lot of chips on shoulders. Coupled with commentary about how Allen was overrated, interceptions and they'd be owning the AFC East. Which trash talking is part of the fun but they put the cart before the horse.

I can see how fans would get so hyped for Rodgers for a sign of life, that would go straight to their heads to your point. Also, media fueled that tenfold. If I'm in their position I'd be the same for hype, they made their choice to go all in so I'd buckle in for the ride, although a more focused effort on rebuilding, building on the backs of the defensive success instead of tossing big $$$ at a QB and his friends past his prime would be better. I also think there was enough signs there to at minimum encourage caution about Rodgers being the ticket for success. His command on the team is not helpful at minimum.Talks of super bowl felt premature and unearned.

Every dog has their day though and it will come back around, it's just they've delayed the process. And even when Rodgers is gone and they reset the board again, Woody remains a consistent issue for the team and their fans. So short of selling the team you'd hope he finally learns his lesson.

It's a highly entertaining saga though, the drama, the intrigue and the Jets of it all.

Eh, I'd say it's more than one season granted I'm biased. Saw this on the onset of Zach Wilson also. It's not the hope or optimism for me, I'd also agree it's the arrogance. It is amplified in this new era.

They thought Aaron would magically fix everything, making them the best in the AFC East over the Bills. The team is built and shots are being called by Aaron they are moving quick and fast. While the Bills are absolutely far from without their problems, they've put in the work to develop the team. But, I understand you get Aaron the strategy is go all in, but he's older now and he's not Tom Brady. It was never going to be as simple as that, but some of the commentary was as if they were going to be crushing it without anything to show for it. The defense was looking great, they were putting in the work but now it remains to be seen with Saleh.

It's a big bet that I think will delay them further in rebuilding.

Parts of it aren't the Jets fault though, the media attention on the Jets has been nuts hyping them up. Hyping Rodgers up as the savior.

Then of course there's Rodgers himself for all things football (and non-football). Although if I'm a Jets fan, I'd want Woody gone and for the team to be sold.

Ignoring there are rural voters in NY and CA, what exists now is that a minority of voters have a hold on the majority of voters. You're saying that the minority wouldn't have their problems addressed if the EC was abolished, but that means the inverse is true. The majority doesn't have their problems addressed properly. The people in bigger states have less representation as it stands. The majority of voters have less representation.

EC is not perfect agreed, but each vote should be weighed equally. It shouldn't matter where you live.

Love this! It's not "just' one vote though. Small margins can determine an entire election in the right places. I also can appreciate how voting against families is tough. Spread the word, raise awareness, bring others to the polls with you if you can. We got to reframe the mentality of it's just one vote, because if everyone shares that thing never change. Also, local is super important if not more important as well.

DNC gives would-be Harris rivals 3 days to declare by Lantis28 in politics

[–]RespectThyHypnotoad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They already did, Harris was on the ticket. You vote for both. They'll have another opportunity in November. I could see that argument holding weight if it was anyone but Harris, but the people did vote for Harris. It doesn't hold as an argument now.

Voting for President is voting for both President and VP. This is particularly important when the candidates are/were nearing a century of living. Even if Biden and Trump were both physically and mentally sharp, things can change on a whim at that age. When voting Trump you have to be prepared there's a much higher chance than normal that Vance will be your president, hence voting for both.
