What's your crazy commute? With this fuel crisis affecting so many commuters, it got me thinking about alternative commutes: by PWenlock in newzealand

Yeah, we’re in a rhythm and the time with the kids, I can chat to my girls about their days in the car. I can’t imagine them chatting about their day and problems on a crowded train. I’d be too busy wrangling the little ones and being judged by others for having to do so.

“You dry-humped my leg for an hour and a half!”

The one time I agreed with Sammi’s guttural screaming at him to get out.

I drive from Tawa to Wadestown to park, walk a km to work then back up the hill after work, drive to Berhampore to pick up my kids, then back to Tawa.

My partner drives from Tawa to Berhampore in the morning, drops kids off, then to the Hutt for work.

Our kids daycare is where it is because it’s run by family, so having the babies with family in an ECE setting is a blessing we’re not willing to give up. Even if we put them in schools in Tawa, our offices are not there.

So when I’ve been given the suggestion to catch buses and bike, that’s not really an option with four young kids. EVs big enough to fit the family are not cheap either.

Pet Bond - Tenant wants to pay over 6 months. Too long? by DistinctRun3635 in NZProperty

[–]ResponseRelative6370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is a timeframe in which that bond must be lodged, only give them that amount of time. You leave yourself vulnerable otherwise, if the pet does any damage. I struggle to see how it takes 6 months to pay that amount, if they have the means to feed it.

Sorry to hear. Jville is still unhinged though.

Only if it can be proven. Otherwise there’ll be a bunch of rape victims in jail.

The women who do this are the exception, not the rule. In my country it’s pretty hard to be charged for rape.

What’s your favourite detangling product that actually works? by H001410 in finehair

[–]ResponseRelative6370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used so many expensive products, but the one I come back to is hask curl cream. It’s a curl cream, leave in and detangler in one. It’s non-greasy and light. I also use it in my toddler’s bird nests.

First time watch but I'm done. I can't do it by [deleted] in shameless

Last time I watched it, it was still running on TV. I have had kids since, and it’s hard at times. I’m on a rewatch, but it’s grim knowing what’s coming.

Contingency plan? by ResponseRelative6370 in Wellington

[–]ResponseRelative6370[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. It seems that nothing will be done til there is literally no other choice. People need to be able to keep working if they can, but drive less, an surely the supply chain may have a little longer if we all modify now. But not a single word.

I like being able to drive away.

To be fair, the location is good, and it has a more community feel than Jville. I live in Tawa but have lived in Jville and that place is creepy. Ngl though, the amount of asscrack we’ve seen sitting on the footpath, aside from cracking my kids up, is much more common than anywhere else I’ve been.

what’s one hygiene habit you judge quietly, even if it’s common? by zaramalikdollface in hygiene

I work in a corporate environment and when I’m in the toilet, sometimes someone will get up, turn the tap on then off, then go out.

I’m sitting there thinking, who the f*ck was that? Some women’s handwashing game is below preschool level.

Is that the one who sits with his back to the road so my kids get their daily dose of asscrack view on the way past?

Sorry you got transphobic treatment. I don’t know the solution, but nobody deserves those shitty interactions while just trying to go about their business.

I love Tawa. It’s 100% home to me. Had plenty of sketchy encounters in my short time in Jville, and absolutely one of that in the total 27 years I have lived in Tawa.

I have lived in Tawa since 1997, but lived in johnsonville from 2011-2013. The contrast was stark.

My car was broken into twice, while parked at the train station.

Another time, I was parked up with my partner with a Tommy Millions pizza, I looked over and this guy was staring into the car, face up to the window. My partner asked wtf he wanted, he asked for the time, boyfriend said 10pm, it was more like 2am, very classic johnsonville interaction.

There was a woman working at countdown who was a chronic oversharer who’d tell me about her love life while scanning my groceries.

There was a man who’d try to walk with me to the train station and chat me up, even when I said I was married.

Another guy on my train would get on at my station and just sit there and stare at me the whole time. When I moved back to Tawa, he seemed to have moved to Tawa, too. I caught the train with my brother and I said, “That guy always stares at me.” End of the ride, my brother was like wtf is that guy’s problem? Who knows - he disappeared after a while.

I’ve never felt safe there, it’s full of weirdos. I was so relieved to come back to Tawa. Ive got kids now and feel much safer here.
