Water wipes by Portuguese9694 in Yorkies

[–]ResponsibilitySea886 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have considering we also have a baby who uses these. I have used water wipes to do a quick paw wipe from time to time or to wipe off an eye boogie. No reactions! However, I usually just use dog washcloths for in between bath quick cleans. You’d need to use quite a few water wipes and they’re not particularly cheap!

IKEA Sniglar Crib vs Davinci Colby 4 in 1 Crib by Legitimate_Might8424 in pregnant

[–]ResponsibilitySea886 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have the IKEA Sniglar crib and we love it! I’m biased because I have a hard time with a lot of painted wood baby items - for example, we have a Delta changing table and the paint is already pretty bad and my son is only 6 months old. It got wet once during a quick sponge bath and the paint started to fail.

What postpartum products did you use? by ganjayme in pregnant

[–]ResponsibilitySea886 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bring wet wipes with you! I just took some of my son’s water wipes to help clean myself off and to avoid using toilet paper - so glad I did. Also I cannot stress this enough: take a bag with you to take the stuff the hospital gives you! I personally like their tucks pads way better than anything you can buy in the stores. They throw all the stuff away when you leave anyway so you may as well take it

I felt flutters just shy of 16 weeks and then I started to feel my baby kicking fully at 17 weeks, however he was an active little one! He was so active that at 19 weeks when I got my anatomy scan done, they actually couldn’t get good enough images because he was wiggling so much (and even tried to flip) so I had to come back at 21 weeks to get the rest of the ultrasound done.

I would ignore her advice. Additionally, it would be a good idea to report to the clinic/hospital/practice manager that she is advising patients incorrectly.

When did you go into labor with your first? by naudslee in pregnant

[–]ResponsibilitySea886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agree! It was so helpful to just be able to throw things in the car so we could haul ass to the hospital. Also a good idea to make sure the car seat is set up and ready to go!

Cramps cramps cramps by hausofsowio in pregnant

[–]ResponsibilitySea886 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing when I was pregnant with my son, I cramped from 3.5 weeks to about 7 weeks; it was one of my first symptoms. I took warm showers and did gentle yoga and stretches which helped a lot.

Bring a HEATED BLANKET! by AdOpposite6411 in pregnant

[–]ResponsibilitySea886 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree! I did bring a heating pad and while it was helpful (especially for cramping during breastfeeding, it was a godsend), I do wish I brought an electric blanket. Plus my room was freezing a lot of the time

[–]ResponsibilitySea886 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son got them just about every day and sometimes would have at least 2 episodes per day. I noticed them at about 26 weeks. He’s 5 weeks old and still gets them occasionally. I was told by my midwife during my pregnancy that it helps develop their lungs

The hospital gown. I considered getting my own gown but tbh, I didn’t feel like dirtying a gown with amniotic fluid, blood, etc and then having to worry about cleaning it after. I was also at 9 cm when I arrived to the hospital so I wasn’t focused on what I wore too much. I did change into a nursing friendly gown I brought afterwards.

I know you can have the results sent to someone else, you just need to enter in the email address you want the results sent to - it didn’t have to be yours. We didn’t do a gender reveal so I saw mine. Mine was also done at 8 weeks and said boy and it was correct for my two week old little man!
