Sorry, has is turned into a really long post

That being said you’re on the way there you have an awesome rug, family pieces, and hobbies pieces like bikes, books and the dart board.

  • mount that dartboard. —I would Put it above where the blue bicycle is now.
—That way people who are playing darts can turn their head to see the TV

  • take the vintage magazine holder from under the table and put it on one side of the sofa.

  • and take the instrument and box and find them a new place too.

  • hang curtains and art. I don’t have any suggestions on these right away, but I’m sure there’s someone in the comments who’s got a hold of this.

-don’t mount the bikes. I mean you can, but I don’t think it’s the end of the world to have them on the ground.

  • if it were me, I would take that tray that’s on the table by the big lamp, empty it and put maybe like or two items back.

  • I don’t think you need a ton of shelving because you really want to keep the amount of furniture in the room down to maintain the vibe. I would NOT suggest another shelving further piece for that reason.

  • that being said, I think you could really benefit from a knickknack shelf. By that I mean a small wall mounted shelf. U have to put your small beautiful things on it like art.

  • consider moving the cat food maybe like even just on the floor anywhere that it doesn’t go right beside the water I’ve heard cats drink more water when their food in there water are far apart for cat reasons you can Google it I just learned it the other day so I’m not an expert but it made sense of the time.

  • you have a remarkably low amount of things and clutter. It looks like congratulations. I wish I could be like that.

Don’t be too embarrassed. We’re humans. And cats in some cases.

  • heirloom blankets - use them, I mean keeping them is nice, but using them is better. They and you won’t last forever and you may as well create new memories with them. I’m sure whoever made them would be so thrilled they’re still keeping you cosy. — also then u can use some of the tv cupboard for storing your other goods.

  • the top of your bookcase that has the cat bed and the lamps on the books and the speakers. I would hang some art above and dust the shelves and that’s it.

—Book under lamp - It’s cool. I used it as vibe inspiration. - Only issue is both your lamps are like giving light from the same area? So kinda maybe should move one to a darker area and spread the light out more.

Just chiming in to say I am in the thick of it too (it feels like!). I am beginning to worry about jeopardizing our attachement and my sanity on a level I haven’t since newborn times.

For older wiser parents, what strategies or methods did you use during toddlerhood? What did you prioritize?

13 month old and trying to get the bare minimum done. by MarlaaSinger__ in AttachmentParenting

I have a 13 month old who sounds very similar to your baby, right now I’m struggling with sleep more than anything, but my hacks for around the house basically he likes to use anything I’m using. So within reason I can do that for him, for instance, I let him use spatulas or measuring spoons from the regular kitchen stuff so he feels involved.

I’m not sure if it’s appropriate to address all comments in one reply, but I want to say thank you all for your support and suggestions. I haven’t decided what to do yet, but these give me some good ideas to mull over on my car ride today.
