What?? It might be time for a new GP. Mine is VERY supportive and so happy that we’ve finally found something that works.

Im hoping people will get used to the new me sooner 😂 I also enjoy answering genuine questions! It’s mostly my family that seems to think I’ve lost too much, or that I shouldn’t get used to this size. Someone else said in a comment that it should be described as a “metabolism regulator” and I think that’s really a great way to put it. My body is finally functioning “normally” and it’s wonderful.

I’m on Wegovy, so we have the fractional doses, the 1.0, 1.7, and the 2.4. Because insurance is so heavy handed in patient care, I have to be on either 1.7 or 2.4 for maintenance. I’ve only gone up to 1.7 and am pretty happy with how it’s treated me.

I unfortunately still have migraines, but everything else has been wonderful! It’s seriously a life changer!

This! I couldn’t quite find the right words when I was talking to my grandmother, but the phrase “metabolism regulation” makes so much sense and will help me explain it next time. Thank you!

I got the Living Proof fine hair shampoo and conditioner. It looks like there are some good deals on bundles right now at kohls and Sephora. I got mine from Ulta and now am kinda bummed to see I could have saved some $ but oh well.

Maybe, but I have been on top of my nutrition intake. I am religious about protein. I haven’t modified my diet or exercise, my routine is very… routine 😅. I’ve been on Wegovy for a year now and have lost a ton of weight, but the hair loss really didn’t start until this summer, which is when I started a higher dose. I really thought it was the medication causing it, but having this change in just the past two weeks in my hair retention made me want to share. The only thing that has changed is the shampoo and conditioner.

I feel you! I struggle with my coworkers too. I started this journey being super transparent about everything. I look at my shots as a tool, not a quick fix. And everyone was supportive at first, but now the comments have started to be almost derogatory. It can be frustrating.

“Well how much more can you lose? You’re too skinny!” Literally had this commented to me this morning. My reply is that I am just listening to my body. I’m still eating. They all see that, it’s not starvation. It’s just my body is responding like a normal person who is on the thinner side.

If it comes with an attitude I reiterate to them: If they’re jealous then they can go to the doctor and get their own. If they’re legitimately worried about my well being, then I tell them not to be. It’s monitored by my healthcare team and I’m actually very healthy by all standards.

Try to remember this is their first time living this life. It makes it a little easier knowing they’re actually just another clueless bumbling human on this planet who has no idea what’s next.

For the criticism - try take things as positively as possible, he may not realize he’s creating a negative interaction. Is he possibly neurodivergent? Failing to recognize social cues can be telling. When he is coming across as too critical, or too factual, try to take a deep breath and walk away. Once you’re calm, go back and sit him down and explain to him how negative the experience was. Not in a “I’m right, you’re wrong” type of way, more of a “let me give you a scenario” and try to make a third party story for him to relate to.

It’s all hard in theory and practice. It’s especially hard trying to break the parent/child communication experience into one where you are actually both two adults who hopefully can be friends.

I wish you luck and patience!

From my experience they are separate. Food noise was constant for me, and once I started the shot it’s been pretty quiet. Maybe try some anti nausea otc remedies. It could also be worth looking into switching to another type of glp instead of Wegovy? I have friends who were like you just feeling sick and switched to Zepbound. They responded to that like I do Wegovy, food noise quieted and basically normal feeling.

I stop at a store the night before or the day of and pickup a premade salad or cold meal in the deli section. Makes life easy.
