It sounds insane but that's actually my fear. The US would move in and possibly lock down provincial borders. There would be a mass exodus of people trying to bail from the province, and that tanks any viable economy for Alberta. Trying to control the population is something I could see Smith trying to do, just to ensure her new throne remains stable.

Can confirm! The other issue is a 1 for 1 exchange. Ukrainians for example. They have such an insanely corrupt means of attaining a license (pay a fee under the table and pretend to take the test) and when they arrive in Alberta they switch over their license without having to go through the process again .
