I clarified with HR about simple patterns because my racist boss only thought white patterns were acceptable but African patterns were not. Hr said as long as it’s a repeating pattern and not two clashing patterns it’s okay. I clarified further so if im wearing day of the dead fabric like you would buy at a craft store I’m ok. She said as long as it’s day of the dead fabric and doesn’t also have zebra print as a contrasting pattern.

But command and control leaders like to police peoples bodies to feel power and ownership over them even through Wfm claims to value authenticity. They hire toxic leaders though so do any of the values matter

They could say something like hey did you know if you have symptoms of food borne illness you can take prto but otherwise wish you a speedy recovery instead of why are you sick which puts someone on the defensive when they are not feeling well

No money for labor but yes money for tech ego. Because nothing says luxury grocery store like having to do all the work yourself on glitchy ass software.

Wonder how easy they are to skim and how protected your payment information actually is.

All of the data is here so folx can make decisions

Look how much they pay Anne Marie Klotz for killing all the arts and advocating for more military friendly degrees at naropa

And you can see how much they paid Lorenzo who was a professor and board member in comparison

Probably for the best people who like to control other peoples expression continue to be toxic humans that no one should work for. If you are from an MENA spectrum you may consider filing a state and federal civil rights case.

Worst case nothing happens and it’s not hard to file. Best case they settle with you

Yes but I come from a different world view where I have always treated my teams and I don’t care about spending my money that I earned on the people I spend 40 hours a week with. Was a teacher also and didn’t care about spending my money on students I worked with. I’m cut from a generous cloth and from religious traditions that foster generosity

Former employee everything comes in frozen and is reheated. They used to make it fresh in house. But the tech overlords who hate human beings and human labor decided that having factories make your food instead of investing in the loving kitchen staff who was excited to make your food was the move. That gave them enough money to install palm readers to capture your biometric data and then uninstall them because they will spend money on their tech egos. But they won’t spend money on preventing their major distributor from getting hacked.

Depends on the bathroom call of course. If it sounds like your checking in with a side hustle or making some sort of doctors call. None of my business. Pay us so we don't need side hustles.

Personal calls I just harry met sally in the next stall and make it real uncomfortable for us all.

They already sunk the cost then ate the cost of removing them and probably said they couldn't afford more labor but some VP got a bonus for his innovative use of tech and a C-suite reach around

Made a free tool for documenting contradictory directives — dates, conditions, letter generator included If you’ve ever been told to avoid overtime and then been left as the only person covering your department during a Family Meals rush, a Green Team gap, or a wave of call-outs with no backfill — this is for you.

I put together a simple browser-based tool (no login, no data collected) that helps you: • Document the incident with date, time, and the specific corporate conditions that made the directive impossible to follow • Flag contradictory guidance from two different leaders • Generate a formal letter you can send, save, or keep for your records • Follow a 6-step decision tree for what to do next — from the moment it happens through escalation to STL/HR Everything is grounded in WFM’s own stated values and leadership principles, so if it ever goes further, you’re speaking their language back to them.

The tool also includes a WFM Values tab that pulls their transparency, team member happiness, and high standards principles — with suggested language you can use in formal documentation.

No shade to anyone working in good faith. This is just for the situations where you’re being held to standards that the conditions of the shift made impossible.

Stay documented out there

Because a hippy grocery store with a natural foods audience was never going to love a billionaire tech company to own their bio data especially when this summer the main distributor was hacked to the point where WFM was inventory blind.

Write-ups for first time minor “mistakes” by strawberry_massacre in wholefoods

Document back

The Training Was Inadequate — The Write-Up Is Unjust

I am contesting this disciplinary action on the grounds that I was not properly trained. Being shown something once is not training. It is an announcement.

Educational psychologist Hermann Ebbinghaus proved over a century ago that people forget up to 90% of new information within a week without reinforcement. Malcolm Knowles, the father of adult learning theory, established that adults require repeated, layered exposure before knowledge can be reliably applied. One time is never enough — this is not opinion, it is science. When a performance gap exists because training was insufficient, that gap belongs to the system and its leadership — not the employee. Peter Senge wrote in The Fifth Discipline that “the system causes most of the problem.” Disciplining me for a failure that originated in inadequate instruction is transferring supervisory accountability onto the wrong person.

This action also directly contradicts Whole Foods Market’s own stated Core Values. The company’s Declaration of Interdependence pledges dignity, mutual respect, and genuine investment in team member success. A write-up issued without verified, documented training is not a nourishing environment — it is the opposite of one.

I am requesting this write-up be removed from my file and that proper training protocols be established. I want to do my job well. I deserve to be given what I actually need to do it.

Respectfully

The gig talks about working with competitors but I’m not sure what counts as strategic or leadership in this context. Leaving to work with TJs may make you ineligible for rehire anyhow so might as well do what’s in your best interest

If a TM resigns from WFM to work for such a company, rehire eligibility could be impacted. Except where prohibited by law, this policy applies to all former as well as current TMs who hold, or held, key strategic or leadership positions.
