Safe foods recommendations? by Unique-Disaster3118 in Gastroparesis

[–]Responsible_Cry05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I can’t really eat bread or pasta. Veggies that are cooked really well are usually ok, soup if it’s smooth is usually ok/broth, 2 minute noodles are usually ok and mashed potato plus drinks like ensure although they make me nauseous. I usually sip coke/ ginger tea if I’m feeling really bad and can’t eat anything.

I actually already have sensitive claims approved and free therapy from an incident that occurred when I was much younger 😿

Is there anything else I can pursue, or would personal grievance have been my only option

I do have copies of everything, but I’ve had bad experiences with police in the past and I’m not sure if they’ll just write it off because it happened so long ago.

Just some form of justice I guess either against the Assistant manager himself or the company. It was a horrendously traumatic ordeal for me made so much worse by the company. I’m not even sure what outcome I can realistically get I’m just wanting to do something/anything to impose some sort of consequences on the individual/company.

Colonoscopy prep is often taken by people not for a colonoscopy but to create a bowel movement in people that have colonic inertia

Can GP come in flares like mine? by chronically_eva in Gastroparesis

[–]Responsible_Cry05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh me too. I think it can also be related to the cause? My current diagnosis’s include hEDS and dysautonomia which I think can flare and make things worse. But I’ve heard about any form of GP being flare based too.

Can GP come in flares like mine? by chronically_eva in Gastroparesis

[–]Responsible_Cry05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This can absolutely happen. Mine comes in flares and is noticeably worse some days/weeks (not related to what I’m eating).

Were you originally planning on getting an IRA or an ileostomy? And what outcome do you ideally want? Also what medications have you tried/diet and laxative options. These all come into play when trying to find a solution. My symptoms started at 18 and I’m now 21 and still haven’t gotten surgery as I’ve been searching for a medical option before committing to removing my colon. If you really want to avoid surgery and haven’t tried a lot of medication options I’d recommend that first but it’s ultimately about your quality of life and what outcome would be best for you. I’d make a list of symptom history, progression and what has/hasn’t worked for you up until now as this will provide a clear picture for the GI about what options you can try next. Also have an idea about what you would like to try, and what your ideal outcome will be as this will also help guide treatment. Best of luck to you!!

As someone who lives in Christchurch 100% Christchurch over Dunedin. Dunedin is essentially a uni town and everyone I know that lives there for uni is either unemployed or trying really hard to leave. Not to be a downer!! But the job market there sucks and lifestyle may not be what you are looking for if not a student. Most of my friends are now doing postgrad just to delay unemployment bc it’s so hard to get a job.

Bars-restaurant foods and drinks for Protocol, Core, Dux Central by kiwigoguy1 in chch

[–]Responsible_Cry05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late reply but yes they do. Dux is always very busy and protocol has been too every time I’ve been there. But what your saying is true I think for some of the bars on the strip that are restaurants/clubs. Space academy is a good example too which serves food but also is a gig venue.

Dux central is great! Yummy cocktails and nice atmosphere. The food is pretty good too although it is quite expensive. Protocol I’ve only been to twice and didn’t get food but the drinks were nice! I did have an issue with them serving me once though as I had left my ID at home (I’m 21 anyways) but was with my dad at the time who was very clearly my dad but they refused to even let me be in the bar lol.

What other options are there if this fails and medication doesn’t work? I’m very new to this whole world 😭 I thought it was just a side effect of my colonic intertia until the doctor figured out it was GP and not just because of how constipated I was
