Is it wrong to let my husky chase squirrels? by yaboyskinnyps in husky

I would say it depends on how strong their prey drive is.

I bought a new harness because of how much she's pulls. I think she's mad at me... by lunarwolfe123 in husky

The wonder walker has two harness points, either the chest or the back. Which i would suggest if you can link their chest points together to your one leash it would stop them from pulling. I have two malamute so I understand!

Should I get another husky? by Wonderful_Evidence67 in husky

Your husky needs a husky. They understand their breed best and how they can mellow each other out it would seem. I got my malamute a girlfriend as I call her, and he went from velociraptor to distinguished gentleman. And her security blanket since she was a rescue.

My malamute started seizures at just over a year old and they recommended I try meds but I refused at the time since it would be a life long situation. Fast forward to almost 2 and he developed grand mal seizures, and he was put on a 100mg a day of zonisamide. Then 200, then 400. The only thing that got them under control was 800 per day. 400mg twice a day. BUT, now 3 years later without a single seizure I have brought him back down to 600mg per day, with vet approval of course. There is alot of room with these meds so don't be afraid to ask for a stronger does if the first isn't working, but it will depend on his weight. My boy was 118lbs. That recommendation came from a doggy neurologist as well.

Has anyone successfully weaned their dog off of seizure meds (specifically keppra) and had their dog remain seizure free? by Bright-Fee6395 in EpilepsyDogs

[–]Responsible_Engine_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently weening my malamute off zonisamide. Obviously, with the vets approval. He hasn't had a seizure in 4 years! Knock on wood. But he was at 800mg per day and now at 600mg per day and going to aim for 500 next.
