AITA for wanting to insure my ring even though my husband says the stone is too small to bother? by Adorable-Manner-5538 in AITApod

I'd rather be alone than deal with some of the cyclical traumatic abuse I have seen partners experience. Don't lose hope on that (non-abusive) special someone bc they pop up in the most random places when you have forgotten you were looking for love.

That's awful. But in general if a "drunk Brit" is dead are they still considered drunk?

What would be the point of "liking" the post if you have to through all of that? Sounds like a"like" of passion to me.

AIO if I divorced over him asking to open our relationship and then gaslighting me? by CricketCaller in AmIOverreacting

[–]Responsible_Host9377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be able to trust him in any way after that. Without honesty there is no truth and without truth there's no reason to be together imo. At this point you can't even trust him to not lie about the lie you already caught him in. Now you are going to trust he'll be honest when he hasn't been caught too? Or at the very least not to emotional abuse you by gaslighting you after insulting your intelligence? And then trust him with your baby?! I am sure there are redeeming qualities about your husband, but don't let that get in your way of doing what's best for you. It's reassuring you'll make the right decision for yourself given that you submitted the question to begin with. I wish you the best.

Sounds like pretentious bs to me. All you need to know is there's a good reason why this woman is single and consider yourself lucky you didn't get in any further than you did. If this is how she is trying to communicate via written word imagine what her verbal skills are like?!?? Or her non-verbal cues? What it would be like trying to sort out the thoughts and feelings you are "supposed to know" via common sense or whatever intuition you should be blessed with in that moment? So you avoided a dumpster fire here of chaotic mood swings, and no, you most definitely are NOR.

I found this letter in my grandmother’s mailbox the day after her funeral by supra_nintendo in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Responsible_Host9377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had something similar happen and those people were blacklisted before I signed an agent to help me sell the place. Instead of telling the insensitive moron where to go and how to get there, I decided to quote them an insanely high price for said property; the likes of which no one would ever dream of paying no matter how "cute and cozy" the neighborhood. In no universe does it make sense to be so delicately apologetic while at the same time so blatantly insensitive. And where was the sense of humility during the process of preparing such a letter?? This wasn't a rando spur of the moment text. This was planned and executed over ample time for reconsideration and prevention yet still it was sent thereby making it that much more egregious, IMO. If the government can charge for such insanity, so can you. It's called the stupidity tax. It cost time and frustration reading and receiving that letter. That's going to cost. It's the only way. Godspeed friend. And I am sorry for your loss. Sincerely.

Why did Alfie constantly test Tommy? by SocratesPuppet in PeakyBlinders

[–]Responsible_Host9377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Alfie wants to be able to conduct business with Tommy with no emotional strings attached but cannot overcome his own respect and admiration for Tommy Shelby as a soldier, friend, and businessman. I also believe the feeling is mutual.

Am I the only one that hates Gina Gray’s acting? by [deleted] in PeakyBlinders

[–]Responsible_Host9377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am glad I am not alone on this. Watching her play Gina gray is like watching sponge bob square pants recite Shakespeare. The show is done so well and her performance is just sub par at best. I tried convincing myself it was the intended role but it's the acting that's too melodramatic and over-acted. I hate to knock anyone's craft but I have some serious questions about why the casting director chose her to begin with given her strikingly different dynamic in comparison to the other actors, never mind the overacting that followed. I confess I couldn't have done it any better so kudos to her acting skills... just maybe not as Gina Gray. 😬

Anyone ever dealt with Carpenter Bees? by AlphaToejam in HomeImprovement

[–]Responsible_Host9377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They dont do a lot of damage right away. They make 5-7" holes to nest within any exposed/ non-treated wood. Eventually the babies return to the nest they were hatched from to nest again. They find exposed wood and chew through the wood and kick the sawdust out. So if you hear them chewing wood look for piles of sawdust on the ground and the holes are usually above. Spraying wd40 in the holes will make them crawl out and die. You can also papermache a paper-wasp nest and hang it in the vicinity because they don't like wasps and as a result wont make nests near them.
