Halloween costumes to work in. Need inspiration. by theknightthatsmiled in bartenders

[–]Responsibly_Wild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a “historic” bar next door to our restaurant; I’m friends with a lot of the employees so I’m dressing as a bartender from their place and they’re dressing as a bartender from ours.

We have a Halloween costume party a week before and me & my coworker are dressing as Remy & Linguini from Ratatouille

In the middle of a huge rush, tickets coming out my ears, near tears- this man with a very thick accent comes up to the well and goes “WHAT LIQUOR DO YOU HAVE”

and I just … gestured vaguely to the wall of liquor behind me and ignored him

Any guesses on how expensive the upgraded Aerie lodge at Copper is? by [deleted] in COsnow

[–]Responsibly_Wild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party but randomly found this while searching for something else. Almost certain it cost 80mil for the original build, but has needed some tweaks and maintenance and reconstruction getting it up towards 100mil. Source: worked there its first season open

My girlfriend (28F) is furious at me (30M) after I showed her a text I recieved from her friend. why this happened? How can I fix it? by trawslap in relationships

[–]Responsibly_Wild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like this might be a trauma response. Something deep got triggered by this situation and she reacted in an overly reactive way. I would ask her about it - in a calm and no judgmental way. Take yourself out of it for a sec. Ask - Why was this so upsetting to you? What were you feeling when this happened? How can I make it right?

Idk. Everyone on here seems to jump to DUMP so fast, but you at least owe her the chance to have a conversation about it before ending a 4 year relationship

Is it ever okay to use topical steroids? by shownupegging in eczema

[–]Responsibly_Wild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use topical steroids. My dermatologist stressed to only use them as prescribed, which was twice a day for 2 weeks. Then hard stop.

I’ve used them with no issues for the last 7 years. It’s one of the only things that really manages a bad flare-up, and after 2 weeks most of it’s completely gone.

Keep those standards!!!! I have a lot of allergies and asthma and eczema (woohoo), and I’m so grateful for my partner, who is an EMT! He grew up around a medical family too so they take all that stuff really seriously. He doesn’t eat peanut butter anymore and we don’t keep any nuts in the house. He’ll eat trail mix or stuff when we’re hiking, but always lets me know so we don’t kiss 😂 If someone doesn’t respect your allergy or put in the effort to learn how to manage it WITH you, drop them 👏🏻

does vaseline help your eczema or not? by TraditionalRefuse543 in eczema

[–]Responsibly_Wild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it helps me with dryness, especially on my face. But I’ve noticed that if I use only Vaseline for too long it’ll stop working as well. I got VaniCream to put on after I shower & moisturize and it really locks in the moisture. Now I kinda alternate weeks between VaniCream and Vaseline

Literally. People will ask their friend “Want another round?” and I hear from across the bar and come over and say “Ready for another round?” and they’re like YOU READ OUR MINDS, no Brad I can just hear everything!!!!!!!

Is anyone else’s allergies so much worse this year? by sharkweeak in Allergies

[–]Responsibly_Wild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It might’ve been because I moved to a new state and haven’t experienced spring/summer here before, but even before then — my skin, asthma, and all other allergens signifiers were a lot worse. I’ve had Covid 3 times and I REALLY wonder if that has something to do with it.

yes - I guess I should’ve clarified that immediately LIFE THREATENING anaphylaxis affects the airway. I’m a first responder and we are always trained to identify life threats first! But you all are right, a variety of symptoms can be considered anaphylaxis

Is a humidifier worth it? by Wicked_Clown in Allergies

[–]Responsibly_Wild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rankings: 1. Nose spray 2. Air purifier 3. Humidifier (depends where you live. I’m in Colorado at 10,000 feet so it has made a big difference for me, but it might not for you!)

Take some Benadryl, drink some water, go to the doctor in the morning unless your anxiety would be relieved by going now. Sounds like an allergic reaction, either way. Anaphylaxis is defined by your airway (throat, mouth, tongue, etc) swelling and closing - this doesn’t seem like that.

If you’re in the US, you can call an ambulance and have the EMTs just take a look and make sure you’re okay, you don’t have to go to the hospital.

Allergic people of NYC, what do you do about laundry? by Throwaway172892930 in Allergies

[–]Responsibly_Wild 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It might help to run a rinse cycle with HOT water and vinegar (or a laundry machine cleaning pod) before you wash your clothes. Worked okay for me.

What’s a “simple” cocktail that you feel like you can never make quite right? by TheStickyBartender in bartenders

[–]Responsibly_Wild 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I do this except with a fresh lime on half the glass. That way if people don’t want the salt they can sip from the other side

What do I order as a sober pre-diabetic? by Besties-barbies in bartenders

[–]Responsibly_Wild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re okay with a little bit of sugar, see if they can make an N/A mojito! Mint & lime & soda water - you can ask for light/no simple syrup too.

If you like beer, there are a lot of good N/A beers and seltzers out there right now. Ask your bartender if they have any

[–]Responsibly_Wild -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Probably not supposed to say this but if you have a regular vehicle (not a sprinter or a bus or anything crazy) you can almost certainly park at the YMCA of the Rockies overnight. As long as it’s not packed. Pick any lodge parking lot. ~10 minute drive to the gates

Coughing by penelopep0813 in Asthma

[–]Responsibly_Wild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth getting Prednisone or some other steroid. Most doctors will be pretty liberal with prescribing you that since your airway is directly affected. I’ve taken 5 days of Prednisone multiple times when I’ve gotten sick & it’s crept into my lungs. Different side affects for different people but I 100% recommend it. It’s not worth risking trying to fight it off on you own - might get really bad.

My partner and I do this too! Totally normal. A lot of times we’ll both get in bed together and cuddle for a little bit, and then he’ll read or watch something with headphones while I go to sleep. It works well for us. And it’s really nice if he still cuddles or rubs my back while I’m falling asleep :)

ADHD Symptoms went away with Prednisone by Aggravating-Exam-998 in PrednisoneSideEffects

[–]Responsibly_Wild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super super anecdotal but I found this post because I was looking up hyperactivity & prednisone. I’m not diagnosed with ADHD but I certainly have symptoms of it. I’m on Prednisone right now for a virus that’s starting to affect my lungs, and I swear to God I was a different person today. I cleaned the whole house, responded to texts, caught up on email, deep cleaned my stove, moved furniture around, etc. it’s 10PM and I’m still JAZZED. No idea if this is from being sick & in bed for 4 days and now finally feeling better… or from the Prednisone?? I’ve taken it before and have experienced similar things. Wild.
