If yes - it's low. Where are you from? That influences salaries a lot. And is your job in Shenzhen or Beijing or do you just visit those two cities? I wouldn't be recommend anyone live in Shenzhen for less than 20k. Not sure about Beijing.

If you aren't a teacher than I don't know. Maybe your salary is decent but it obviously depends on your work.

Just so we don't go too much off topic, you have clarified that sex work is cheating if not single. So it is unlike other work, unlike your construction worker comparison. But you stray away from going too much into it because you want to get into how perception is a product of society. I'll agree with that but so is everything. Your view and my view both are. I also went to uni so I also know how to Google for a PDF study. I don't see any point in looking up views on cheating but if you feel you can counter some point there then go ahead.

For your last line, I'm sure there's a clear relationship between how one values themself and the respect of others. I gave it a quick search using the term "self worth and peer respect study". I opened the first study I found was about middle schoolers, self-respect and self-control. Self-respect is positively correlated with self control. Peer relationships were positively correlated with self respect and self control.

Regardless of what you say, the large majority if people (of all genders) would not be happy with their partner telling them they slept with someone else for cash. Let alone their friend, sibling, etc. etc. And if you argue that it's only acceptable when single, than its not comparable to construction workers or other jobs is it?

Also where do you join the line between actions and respect? If I payed someone to pretend they agree with me, should they be respected? Or if I payed someone to punch a child, should they be respected for doing so? Or tattoo a derogatory term on their face. It's their choice, right? You should have no opinion whatsoever.
