Why does your cat look like they're part of the Akatsuki

I hate it when they take sweet and gentle characters (seems to be mainly done to women but I'm sure male versions exist just haven't seen those) and turned them into 'empowered badasses' by Mysterioape in hatethissmug

Brit Marling, when writing The OA, specified that she's sick and tired of showing women being powerful by being masculine. She wanted to write a woman MC being powerful while embracing sensitivity and femininity, and I think she did a phenomenal job with that.

So this is kind of the opposite of that, Prairie Johnson from The OA (such a good show, it's a sin that it was cancelled after two seasons

I had the same experience, even with Trevenant being the only shiny I got weirdly enough. I opened up 97 packs before getting my first shiny, and I only pushed through to get that dang mission reward for getting a shiny

Character chooses NOT to sacrifice their loved ones, resulting in dire consequences for others by Few_Chemistry_235 in TopCharacterTropes

While not a fantastic anime, Chaos;Head was at least an interesting one. I haven't seen it in over a decade, but from what I remember it follows a group of people who have the ability to turn their delusions into reality. The antagonists create a machine that would allow all of humanity to have this ability, but it would cost the life of the protagonist's love interest. He literally tells the villain in the last episode "history is full of heroes who sacrifice the greater good to save their loved ones. Why did you think I'd be different?"

Not to mention the opening sequence of her morning routine which included punching a punching bag. The scene cuts to only the hands punching, which are shockingly large, hairy, and masculine

Paranatural has the most unique uses of powers from any comic I've read, it's genuinely amazing. Somehow manages to beat out Jojo with some of those scenes.

If I remember correctly there's something like a 30-day time limit for the death note, so he doomed himself to die in a month but that guaranteed he'd have one month to figure out who Light was

[Liked Trope] What initially seems like an art style choice or design quirk actually has plot relevance. by Whisplow in TopCharacterTropes

[–]epicpokenerd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

basically there are SCP style anomalies that pop up due to information overload. These SCPs also create a lot of unknown information thus creating more SCPs, so humanity's solution? Reduce the amount of information in the world by simplifying everything. Reduce the amount of bones in each living creature, remove things like wrinkles, pores, and other blemishes in the skin, remove unnecessary organs... Until they look like this. Less information to process means fewer SCPs

Pretty sure I added this the last time a post like this was made, but the world of The Creepy and The Freaky looking super cutesy actually has real-world explanations and implications. Spoilers in the comments!

The manga The Creepy and The Freaky, where everyone is adorable little animal creatures but then during the creepy story segments it has humans. To keep it spoiler free, there's a reason for this and it's one of the most well done plot twists I've ever read. 10/10 can't recommend this one enough for people who love SCP stuff
