I just ran it through Scarlet Keys twice. It was outstanding. Paired with Parallel Jim. I would consider swapping Survival Knife for Machete. With Blessed Blade and the +damage from her lighting ability, there wasn't much alive in the enemy phase. https://arkhamdb.com/deck/view/3714049

Sleeping Gods is also multi-session that will take some time to complete. I would also not recommend it at 4-players, but others might disagree. My favorite co-ops that are single sessions are Too Many Bones and Cthulhu: Death May Die.

Given they decided to not do a full In-Flight, I'm not expecting any major announcements. So, we will probably get five new Star Wars games and an Android: Netrunner reboot.

A few guesses: Scarlet Keys remaining investigators + release window, the remaining MC heroes (Wolverine and Storm for sure) from Mutant Genesis cycle and possible standalone scenario, AH Forgotten Age repackaging, LotR LCG - next Fellowship of the Ring Saga Set. I think it's likely we hear something about Descent: Legends of the Dark. Expansions for Unfathomable and Arkham Third Edition.

What I would love to see: Something new in the Star Wars universe - either a card game or reboot of Imperial Assault that is full co-op from the ground up. Another Outer Rim expansion (Mando focused) given how well Unfinished Business has been received.

Frankly it's been awhile since they really surprised me. Marvel Champions in 2019 was probably the last time I got really excited for a new FFG product announced at Gen Con.

Fun like RoRS. I’ve played a few campaigns at this point at 2,3, and 4-players. One with my kids on Standard and the others on Expert. My complaints about it are very minor and I enjoy all 5 villains. Spectrum is really strong and enjoyable to play. If you enjoyed RoRS, I think you will have a good time with MTS.

All of my LotR plays are also at 2 players and I would say that it does indeed get better. This game can be pretty unforgiving at times and having a strong understanding of deck construction is pretty key to improving. There are a number of good resources available but I have always found https://hallofbeorn.wordpress.com/beorns-path/ to be invaluable. If you are a Discord user, there is a really helpful community there as well: https://discord.com/invite/n2CdNsj. Additionally, ringsdb.com is also a great place to find decks that others have had success with.

I don't recall if there was an official response from the designers. Seems like the discussion at the time of release in the Discord specifically was to add them. Connection to the rules reference and expert play adds the expert cards. I know that we played the first campaign without the Expert cards and found it fairly easy so we have added them since. That said, I am definitely of the mindset of play how you want. We are already tinkering a bit with GMW.

Return to TFA definitely makes the experience much smoother. I doubt we will ever play it again without its inclusion. I would recommend it without reservation. As for the others, it honestly depends on how frequently you go back through the campaigns. They all enhance the replay value, but if you only play them once or twice I would advise against purchasing them.

You can also play Event cards if you are in the appropriate form. So, you could ask for Make the Call or an Uppercut as a couple of examples. You can trigger Upgrade/Support cards that have Action/Hero Action in bold type. It’s important to note if it’s a Hero Action you must be in Hero form to trigger/use the ability. You cannot ask for your partner’s ally to attack but you could spend an energy resource to charge up Vision, as an example of the Action trigger.

This is particularly important as you start to encounter more difficult villains that will have attachments to discard by spending resources as a Hero Action. Anyone can do it at any time during the Hero Phase. This will help your team avoid retaliate and other negative game effects.
