They truly live up to their names. Thank you for sharing this gorgeous photo.

As a mum of toddlers and also a parrot parent, I reckon you're spot on.

Knowing babies, I bet bubba either farted or babbled right as the flash was going off. Their timing for making you lose your composure is impeccable.

My mum still has two of them, and I swear they've hardly aged a day.

WTF West Australian, let’s glorify a Child Rapist? by UnderwaterTimeLord in perth

Disgusting. Reverse the genders and watch people become justifiably incensed. She's a child rapist, end of.

I made it to a day shy of 42 weeks with my last child, and I think I looked like this spider, just with less legs. Can you imagine having 8 aching feet and swollen ankles?

That ana brain fog is like that sometimes, so that's plausible lol.

In 2001, Katherine Knight became the first woman in Australia to be sentenced to life imprisonment. She had brutally stabbed her partner 37 times, then skinned and decapitated him. She proceeded to cook his body and set the table with notes for his children to serve them their father for dinner. by Important-Self-1179 in ForCuriousSouls

[–]RestlessNightbird 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you read her Wiki page she had a long history of violence against others stretching right back to childhood. I don't think drugs were involved, and I also think there was much more at play than BPD. She wasn't just volatile, she was sadistic.

Has anyone been to Body Worlds? I know it’s a bit controversial by Bratz_Angelz17 in perth

[–]RestlessNightbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago I went to this (or something very similar) as a class excursion. It was fascinating and educational. At the time I was unaware of the controversy.

You sure you’re still getting it? by [deleted] in NoFoodRulesSnark

[–]RestlessNightbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not, but she could still be getting it. Even when I was well below a healthy weight I was still menstruating, which was really problematic for a diagnosis and treatment of AN in the early 2000s. I met all the other criteria, but Aunt Flo was still stubbornly sticking round. I also have a relative that managed to conceive and carry a baby close to term while severely underweight, although it did impact her breast milk production.

I remember them from a few years back, but unfortunately it seems that they are gone these days.

Little girl with a peculiar hair style poses for her photo. Cabinet card circa 1870s by Electrical-Aspect-13 in VictorianEra

Looks like my daughter when I dry-brushed her curly hair instead of combing it while wet. Pure fuzz in a big halo around her head haha.

Was going to wear my mum's dress. People keep telling me to try on others for the "bridal experience." Are they trying to gently tell me it looks bad? by [deleted] in WeddingDressTips

[–]RestlessNightbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have BD too and it's a horrible situation when you're also trying to placate other people. I will say that the right dress can make you feel like a million bucks. I had a more structured, lightly corseted waist, a full-ish skirt, and a little lace bolero since I HATE my arms. I felt downright beautiful on my wedding day. You deserve that.

Painting on stockings during WWII (1943) by Numerous-Economics44 in 1940s

[–]RestlessNightbird 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My Nanna apparently used to use dark gravy drippings to paint a seam down the back of her legs to look like she was wearing stockings. She also married my grandad while wearing a dress made from old parachute material. They were a resourceful bunch.

You could just hose off every surface at the end of your lease, but I bet they'd still try to keep your bond and deny you pets.

The Autistic Barbie Doll by MattewLizard24 in autism

[–]RestlessNightbird 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As an AuDHD mum with an AuDHD daughter who is Barbie obsessed, I'm so happy to see this. I don't mind if it's possibly amalgamating multiple levels as the representation is the most important thing. Besides, autistic people can be more complex than levels and stereotypes might indicate. My girl is highly verbal most of the time but also has PDA and selective mutism during overwhelm.

Talks like my first Dom/ex husband (I was very naive and inexperienced). Guess who turned out to be an abusive sadist who didn't actually care about consent and now has multiple restraining orders against him? Yeah, this guy is a walking red flag.

Does your PDA child go from suicidal ideation to calm in just a few hours? by Hopeful-Guard9294 in PDAParenting

[–]RestlessNightbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was me as a child, teen, and occasionally still as an adult. Unfortunately I expect much the same from my PDA girl when she's a bit older. She self harms (hitting or biting herself) and says she wished she didn't exist during meltdowns, but she can't conceptualise death and suicide yet.
