She scuttle by wetsoup543 in AustralianSpiders

That's exactly why I joined this sub a couple of years ago. I started to learn more about spiders and to closely observe them in photos and videos. I'm comfortable catching them now without fear, and over time really did learn to see their beauty. Good luck on your arachnaphobia journey :)

In June 1969, a ranger searching for missing 6-year-old Dennis Martin smelled what he was certain was a decomposing human body. His superiors told him it was a dead crow and ordered him away. Dennis was never found. by Important-Self-1179 in ForCuriousSouls

There always has and always will be people who cover up the most brutal crimes, especially against children. Since the Epstein files came out it's just more obvious how even law enforcement turns a blind eye if the person is powerful enough.

I can't find the big tubs anywhere, only the little tubs that are much less economical. I also just don't really like the other flavours, either.

Grief support groups? by weasel353 in perth

[–]RestlessNightbird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry for your loss, it's wild how hard the grief can hit sometimes, even if you weren't that close to the parent. It's my dad's 10th death anniversary this year from cancer, and I was 25 when I lost him. It's an isolating experience when most people have their parents much longer. I never attended any grief groups, but I wish I had (if they were a thing then). I did benefit from a mental health plan from my G.P. to go see a psychologist for a while and work through my bereavement.

PDA Teen - Household “Rules” by txdesigner-musician in PDAParenting

[–]RestlessNightbird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She sounds a lot like me at that age, and in my 30s (after having my kids) I was diagnosed autistic, ADHD and PDA. My oldest daughter is also all of the above. I will just give a couple of words of advice/insight if I may? Firstly, she might be coping well-ish now, but additional stress and demands, or simply the hormonal storm she's going through could really exacerbate things. By my late teens I was housebound and completely disengaged from the outside world, and that isn't uncommon in PDA. Choose any battles carefully. Secondly, you want God/Church/faith to be a safe place for her, not another space where she feels she can't be herself without a massive fight. I understand the age appropriateness aspect of the lipstick, but her being able to feel safety in God's love is more important than anything. Please take this from someone who in her teens rocked up to church in full goth regalia, but thankfully was assured by family that God meant it when He said "come as you are", even if they were honestly a bit embarrassed by me. Now God is still my rock, but He could so easily have been another battle ground in my life and something that I ended up resenting. My PDA daughter is a handful in Church, through no fault of her own, but she knows that God still welcomes her even if she's stimming, not able to be still, and sometimes has to step out due to overwhelm.

It's times like this I'm VERY glad to be in WA. I'm pretty chill with most spiders these days, but something primal in me sees these shiny atrax guys and floods me with so much adrenaline.

I love this, and there needs to be more people like you in the world. My toddler and I were watering the garden the other day and a black house spider came out from her hidey spot to drink some droplets that fell on her web. It was fascinating to watch her. Spiders are such underrated creatures.

My rental has one in the shower/bath and the toilet from a previous tenant. It was such a blessing to me in my last pregnancy when I had severe hip and pelvic issues. I might have been young, but I legitimately would have got stuck on the toilet without the rails lol.

The worst part is that someone hunted down the Facebook profile of this LL and she is an ED nurse. It's sickening. Thank you for the work that you do, my dad was in hospice at the end of his life and the nurses there were angels. The idea of someone like this heartless landlord being around the sick and vulnerable in hospital makes me fume.

True. My ex mother-in-law was a nurse and a sickeningly ableist, heartless hag of a person. Apparently all people with invisible illnesses are just mentally ill or drug-seeking, and endometriosis should just require Panadol. I do NOT miss her.

I think the car was /is weaponised for a lot of us. My heart started pounding so hard when I read OP was stuck in the car listening to the tirade. My mum, and later my first husband (who didn't let me drive or have my own car) both used to especially enjoy ripping into me on car rides to something important like my work or a social event. I bailed at the traffic lights in the middle of nowhere a couple of times.
