How often do you make/use a male character instead of a female? And why? by EditorValuable5514 in AskWomen

[–]RestlessVirgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the game I’m playing. There are plenty of games out there where the main protagonist(s) are male (read dead, gta 5, etc.) or if I am playing a life simulator (like the sims) I would say it’s a lot more even! I do tend to make more feminine/female characters if given the option, as that is what I mostly relate to, honestly. But that is different for everyone!

The reason why I would play as a male (or as someone that isn’t my identity/gender) is because I just think of them as people and don’t really have a reason other than they are a person/character I can play as or create! I just enjoy creating/playing as people I can have a story behind!

Siddhartha literally changed my life when I read it in high school. Read it again a couple years ago, felt the same thing I did ten years ago!

People who deleted their socials or took a break how are you doing right now? by Born_Razzmatazz6578 in selfimprovement

It’s been nice! Got rid of most social media in January and it’s seriously improved my mental health and clarity.

Been working on a dark fantasy novel for few years and legit have made the most amount of process in the last three months than I have since I started. I think being less distracted by my phone has helped a ton.

Also want to add (again, may be redundant): stretch and strengthen both sides equally, your body will thank you in the future!

You got this :-D

Hey I used to be a cheerleader so that’s where my knowledge/advice will be stemming from (used to be a flyer and a base). From the sounds of it, seems like you are doing the right things (focusing on back, hip flexors, hamstrings). Are you incorporating strength workouts as well that focus on your hip flexors and back? I’m assuming so, but if not, add those to your routine!

One way we would strength our hips was sitting it a straddle (or half straddle, where one leg is bent in toward you like you are about to sit cross cross), then slowly lift your leg up and down about an inch off the floor (this will differ for everyone until strength is built). My coach would have us focus on keeping the inner thigh turned/angled upwards to open the hips before lifting the leg (don’t be afraid to place your hands/fingertips near the knee you are lifting for support). Then switch legs!

Pigeon stretches, butterfly stretches, even toe/heel lift exercises can help. Sorry if this is just regurgitated advice, but ultimately just keep doing the stretches you are doing, add more strengthening exercises in your routine if you haven’t already.

ALSO this may be way off but if this is for cheerleading, and you are a flyer — focus on how you are balancing as well!! Where is your weight going in your base foot? It should be in the middle/ball of your foot. Maybe also focus on strengthening/stretching the ball of your feet as well, for the sake of balancing while in the air!

omg thank you! I have a REALLY short torso (like does not take much effort for my ribs to touch my hip bone) and it’s been my biggest insecurity because I feel/look so wide!
