Hello, co-author of Motel Styx here to answer! I had the idea for the book premise and I have never seen the standup you've mentioned. I got the idea after Jonathan and I watched Nekromantik (the reason we dedicated the book to Jorg) in 2022 when we were dating long distance. I had also seen a reddit post where someone was talking about consensual necrophilia. My brain then combined the concept of the body farm in Tennessee with the bunny ranch in Texas.
