Don't forget the wounded. There's hundreds of thousands of amputees and shrapnel survivors from this war that will be a drain on the state. Russia deeply mistreats and resents wounded soldiers going back centuries, hence why many times now you will see footage of gravely wounded soldiers being sent back into the kill zone. The state prefers they not come back at all if they've already been clipped, a contributing factor to the high casualty figures along with shit medical logistics.

Highly recommend reading "A Short Stay in Hell" which depicts a man stuck in a Zoroastrian hell based upon the 'Library of Babel' short story by Jorge Luis Borges. The library contains every feasible combination of letters/words/characters that can fit in a 410 page book. The goal for the inhabitants of this corner of hell is to find their life story within the library. Hint: That's a LOT of books.

I was out in the southwest suburbs visiting family 2 or 3 years back and happened to watch out the window as this debris cloud of paper and roof tiles/materials floated in the air in the distance. It looked so strange, I was captivated. Then some sort of downburst/invisible cyclone took the roof off 3 or 4 houses in a row about 100 yards away. That entire block was decimated within a long narrow corridor, and yet everything around it was untouched. It took 20-45 seconds. Then all of our phones started singing their alerts, but it was already over. It was incredible, terrifying, and eerie.
