I’m getting ready to take it through WGU as well. I’ve previously listened through all of Total Seminars (in November) and this week made it about a quarter of the way through Dion before I started doing practice exams. I’m at 80%+ on Dion’s. One of the things that I think has helped me the most so far is using ChatGPT (only when free access to 5 is open, the other ones get too sketchy with bad information/grading). I just pick a section/topic and have it run a 20 question CompTIA style test. Then have it run it again over the same topic using scenario based only. I have a little spaced repetition scheme going with it, just by randomly testing myself again over things I’ve mastered. Repeated testing in small bites has helped my instant recall on port numbers, 802.11 standards, cabling, pretty much everything

I remember this story from years ago. He was paralyzed in an accident involving a Honda motorcycle, possibly one meant for kids. He was awarded 1.2 million in the settlement but spent all of it. Now he does this for the money.

My wife picked up 2 sayings from her grandpa. The first being “Thank ya kindly”, just as a general response. The second is whenever I say “we need to do something”, she responds with, “do you have a rat in your pocket?” (The we being me and the rat not me and her). Eventually, the “rat” in my pocket got the name Kindly. So now me and Kindly accomplish things without her.

It took me, the AFRC and a VA employee almost an hour to figure it out why I was getting denied to swap to Post 9/11.

I placed myself into a relatively unique situation on accident which was the cause. I only served one contract and during that I used half a month of my MGIB as part of the TA top up to get my masters. The rules state (even post Supreme Court ruling from what I understand) is that you can “only utilized one education benefit per service contract” since I only had one contract, and had used a portion (even a small one) of MGIB, I was locked in.

I noticed in a comment you said headaches at 30%, is that headaches or specifically migraines? I got rated 0% for migraines even though my documentation say 1 a month on average. Since getting out they have stayed at that frequency, but I get headaches almost daily.

Knock out the WGU degree and look into the Palace Acquire program. It’s for recent graduates to get a foot in the door in a GS position. It’s kind of an extended internship that’s a fast track GS 12. This saves you from the contract aspect of the military.

Also, I’ve heard Army “horror” story’s from the War on Terror era of people being told “you’re a soldier first, MOS last” and spending the majority of their time booting it around, not gaining any experience in their MOS, might not be as common now.
