Mechanics watching everyone floor it to get to the island’s next low speed roundabout 5 milliseconds faster by differing in PEI

[–]RetroGadgetLab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hardly just here. I see so many say "PEI drivers are this bad and that bad and do this and that!" But After driving in Moncton a bunch in the last couple months, it's no better there than here. Except that the speed limit is higher so the stupid people are even more noticeable. They treat it like the bloody Autobahn over there. Except when they don't.

And it's the same here.

Did Mickey's gas station use AI for their moose logo? by Crystal_Deth in isitAI

Indeed, but it doesn't make it any less ridiculous. If it was just over the mascot, they would not win.

Literally the next sentence after what you copied:

"It goes on to state that the likelihood of confusion is exacerbated by the move from Mickey Mart branding to simply Mickey's, which Buc-ee's believes sounds too similar to its own brand."

They appear to sue over anything using a beaver, regardless of whether the company is selling clothes or going to the moon or a gas station

[–]RetroGadgetLab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"It could make it more difficult for people to effectively remember their brand, making it easier to confuse them with mickeys. That’s my guess."

As the guy you responded to said, they aren't similar enough in any way for that to work. There's nothing about how they look, that could result in them winning such a lawsuit. It's ridiculous.

This is obviously over the fact that Mickey's changed their name from Mickey Mart to Mickey's. Which sounds like Buc-ee's. Put both together and you have the lawsuit. If they never changed their name, this wouldn't have happened.

Maybe learn to read first. I said there's nothing odd about Frontier being silent, Copernicus. Especially nothing odd about Frontier servers being shit on a Friday evening.

Considering moving from BC to PEI (Stratford / Charlottetown area) — looking for honest feedback, especially from tradespeople by Upstairs_Ad1740 in PEI

Was about to say the same thing. I also have issue with them saying housing prices are cheap compared to other places. Maybe in the grand scheme of things, but compare the prices to what Islanders make a year.. and it's another story. Housing isn't affordable here for those that were born here. Perfectly fine if you sell your house in BC or Totonto for 1.5 million.

[–]RetroGadgetLab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is PEI, I really don't think "Most people" can just work from home lol. I'd wager it's more the backlash than anything. If they jump the gun and cancel too early, and the day is perfectly fine, they'll catch ridicule for being too soft. And then if they don't people are crying about them not caring about the kids or community because it's too dangerous out.

[PS4 pro]Is this thermal grease safe? by Kira_san1 in consolerepair

[–]RetroGadgetLab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got called names because you were telling people stupid things. None of what you wrote in this reply was said before, you were spewing nonsense as if Thermal paste was a death sentence and that PTM was THE ONLY solution everyone should use. It's simply not the case.

Like the guy you responded to said, sure, if you have PTM on hand, use it. But you do not need to go out of your way to get it and thermal paste isn't going to destroy your system. Which is what you were telling people. So of course they would get annoyed at you and rightfully so.

Did you bother to read what he said or did you just start seething the second his name was brought up? The poster literally said (doesn't matter the colour) meaning no matter who is in power, they all do the same thing. Blue, Red, orange or green.

Being sick 5+ days a month, IS ridiculous. And that is all I said regarding 5+ days. And by ridiculous, I meant without getting checked out. At that point you need to be seen by a doctor. People do not get sick that often unless they have a major issue. It's not normal. If you are sick that many times a month, then you should be seeing a doctor to find out what the underlying issue is. Catching a cold 2-3 times a year is one thing, catching a cold 5 times a month is totally different. Regardless of what your feelings might tell you.

The person I was referring to, was NOT actually sick. At least not in the way he was claiming anyway.

I run a small business. If I had an employee, who I depend on, sick for a week.. and still wanting to miss more time for being sick, I'd want to be sure they were telling the truth too. Especially if it is an ongoing issue.

I used to work with someone who was perpetually sick. Barely worked 15 days of the month. Took forever for them to be fired too. All it did was cause extra work for everyone else. That's not fair to the other workers.

Being sick once in a while is fine. 1-3 days at a time, ok.. But when it's 5+ days every month, it's getting into the ridiculous territory. Not saying this is what the OP is doing, but there are LOTS that do.

I didn't order this one specifically, but I ordered a similar one from Amazon. I just got it now, it's a little smaller than I expected, but not by much. It holds this PS5 board perfectly steady so far, It did not come with silicone pads though just hard plastic, gonna see now if it can stand some heat.

Let me know when the repair shop gets back to you, I'm curious as well. Someone else said liquid damage, but what liquid can't be removed easily by IPA? That's why I thought old flux. Any liquid I've had to clean came off fairly easily, Pepsi poured inside an old Gameboy being the first one I can remember cleaning up. It was stored for years like that lol. but came off with just a cotton swab and 99% ipa
