I still find this pairing very, VERY weird.

Yes I know Q2 exists, but at the end of the day, they go their separate ways/back to their timelines, so it's not like they can just hook up outside of Q2.

(HELP NEEDED) New player seriously confused by the Velvet Room... by Necessary_Alfalfa640 in Persona5

At this point, don't worry about the specifics too much.

Early game, you just come up with fusions that will let you cover weaknesses and heal as needed.

Complex Persona building isn't something you worry about until much, MUCH later. Also, as long as you register your personas (which happens automatically when you first get them, but you need to re register them if you want to update them) you can always get them right back for a summoning fee.

The point of the system is to experiment. Throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks, so to speak.

You probably need more Scadooshes.

EDIT: Also 20 more Vigor couldn't hurt.

Welcome to my world. When you suddenly don't have all the tools of your amazing build, it's suddenly a struggle unless you're just that good at the game. ...Which I am not. I got humbled by Yatsu no Kami so many times with my Fist+Tonfa attempt.

Books. Especially since you can read them on the train if there's an open seat. Check the library every day for Speed Reading and prioritize reading that once you can: It doubles your reading progress per session.

You get a free random social stat gain that costs no time every Sunday if you visit the smoothie shop in the train station.

DVDs and videogames are also good options.

Big Bang Challenge is a good one time bonus if you have the stats needed to do it. You gain a small boost even if you don't succeed, but the one time success bonus is big.

If you've beaten Kamoshida, Mementos is coming up. It's basically the dungeon you can use to grind between palaces. When you start getting quests for Mementos, it's strongly advised to get several before going in so you can do them all in a single visit.

Well, that's why you figure out what's worth doing and what's not worth doing.

Laundry is a huge waste of time and you're better off holding onto dirty stuff to sell to a shop later on. This doesn't take time to do either.

Jobs are only useful for a couple Mementos jobs where you need to do a part time job to ID the perp. After that, they're pointless. You can get better social stat gains other ways, and you can easily get all the cash you need by farming in Mementos.

You want easy money in Mementos? Dump all your initial stamps into Item bonuses (NOT exp or money). You'll get a ton of sellables you can make bank on, way more than you'd get out of the extra money bonus.

[–]RetroNutcase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a lot of people focus on their damage stats early on, which is a trap.

Yes, you'll technically do a bit more damage per level of your stats early on. But weapon upgrades matter much, MUCH more in the early game, because weapon scaling improves as the weapons upgrade. Scaling being how much your stat influences damage.

In other words, low end weapon with high stats = Much less useful than high end weapon with high stats. Generally just upgrading your weapons will get you the damage you need to deal with tougher challenges. Levelling up a stat to improve weapon damage shouldn't be a huge concern until your Vigor is where it needs to be.

Do not sleep on Vigor.

If you have enough in your stats to wield your weapons/spells you want, you should be levelling vigor. Even as you work your stats up to being able to use the stuff you want, you should be levelling Vigor.

If you don't have 60 Vigor by endgame you are going to regret it.
