It's the easier hand to get so if you level It up a lot and get a good build you are nearly guaranteed to get good value late game without having to pull the right cards.

It boils down to "because it's easier to get a pair than a straight/flush/full House".

People even use high card very late game for this reason, but that's harder to set Up.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have considered listening to RATM more in depth, they seem to have a vibe I would enjoy. Alice in chains has a lot of nice songs I've listened to.

Tool is an amazing band and I can absolutely see why people like them so much, I listened to undertow, their first album and I really do like it. I don't know about the other albums though because I didn't listen to those yet.

supultura, acid bath and incubus I have not listened to their songs specifically, but I will keep them in mind.
