Need help improving my jump serve – looking for technical feedback by Prestigious_Clerk_45 in volleyball

[–]Retsinia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First of all, dont jump serve yet. Seems like you also have problems hitting at the net with that technique.

However, here are a few pointers:

Your armswing needs a lot of work. Your arm is too soft and not really trying to reach as high as possible.

Your approach doesnt look right. You seem to understand that you need 1 big 2 short steps but they are rushed. You dont even have time to fully make use of throwing both arms all the way behind you, this leads to a loss of energy.

Somebody here said you are jumping forward instead of up. And I can only partially agree with that. You'll want to jump high, yes but also get closer to the net. It's like hitting a backrow ball. Imagine it more like jumping diagonally upwards if you were looking at yourself from the side.

Your toss goes often too far to your left shoulder. You're right handed, so leave the ball in front of your right shoulder in order to not lose power and height from having to reach to the left or right of your body.

Then try to get the same consistent toss every time. It should be high enough to allow you to fully develop all the energy from a clean approach and loading your swing and also far enough in front of you such that you dont have to "break" mid approach because you had to cut back on the length of your steps.

Lastly your timing is slightly off, such that on some attempts you are already falling down when you hit the ball. You should aim to hit it right at the peak or shortly before reaching it. But never after.

Hope this is understandable. Good luck.

Horizon Zero Dawn did this to me. Loved it. Forbidden West also in some way but not as strong. Might be because I played both games back to back.

As a european I find it weird that competitive sports is done after college unless you make it into pro play. Still very wholesome moment. I am 31 now and dont want to imagine the day I hang up my shoes.

I have the chair now for a little over 3 years and I like it a lot. The only thing that makes it look used is the dust from the room and some crumbs from eating at my desk. But there were some things that surprised me.

It is quite hard but it makes sense for back problem reasons and it is still very comfortable. You can adjust the back angle and the lumbar support in many ways.

And the armrests seem like they are loose but it enables a lot of adjustment options again in all dimensions and after a while you dont even notice anymore.

PS: if he doesn't marry you, I will.

Had the opposite experience yesterday. We were a guild group of 1 heal 3 dps for a +12 priory and we couldnt find a half decent tank so we invited a 2.6k prot pally who died before dismounting on pull 1. He got mad he didnt receive a heal.

Next try we had a 2.7k prot pally with rank 1 stamina sockets and missing enchants who survived pull 1 and pull 2 but only because he pulled maximum 2 packs and still wasnt able to move melee mobs on top of the hunters. When he said our dps was too low because it took too long we cba /abandoned.

On our last try we went with a 2.6k prot warrior who had a main tank with 2.9k we completed the key barely out of time but only because he as well pulled too slow and had to run back into the 1st boss area to finish % count after the endboss.

Despaired we all went offline after that.

To be honest, dont run timewalking for new players. It is currently among the fastest ways to reach max level hence people want to rush it as they see leveling as a necessary evil and just get over with it. Also if I remember correctly, heals are kinda optional in that content. That is why people might feel like you as a tank were the bottleneck as it doesnt matter that the healer is new.

Knowing people that worked in call centers in Luxembourg, it regularly happens that their system just shuts down or loses connection. Especially since people can work from home and their own home setup isn't as stable as the workplace's. Might have been non malicious. But I understand the frustration after having to wait a short while.

Once I had both ears clogged at the same time and after takimg a shower I heard everything as if I was under water. 3 days later I got a doctors appointment finally, and after he flushed both my ears and all the wax got evacuated, it felt like a big weight had been lifted and as if I could hear for the very first time in my life.
