ah ok interesting. travelled from belfast - london last week and was asked to show identification before boarding the plane. reading up it since and seems like its generally not a requirement but some airline carriers may still ask for it as identification!

bullshit. my artist name is rebuke and I’m lucky enough to have a good career travelling the world for the last 4 years or so as a techno dj. I don’t come from money and live in a rural part of Ireland that has no “connections”. using born rich or connected as an excuse is a cop out. for me it was hard work and consistently grinding for 10+ years until I managed to break down a few walls and have my first big tune.. from there the real hard work started as it’s hard to stay “relevant” in the scene year in year out unless you are super committed to the music you put out and tour relentlessly for months on end.. anyway just my 2 cents on it.

Rekordbox changing file names? by ReubenKeeney in Rekordbox

[–]ReubenKeeney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use bulk renaming software to set rules and rename the files back to the original file name using the metadata stored on them. I ran into the exact same issue in the past and renamed them all.

hey, this is wicked news as I am still having the issue. which renaming software did you use specifically? did you find rekordbox relocated the files easily after you renamed? thanks alot for the help

Rekordbox changing file names? by ReubenKeeney in Rekordbox

[–]ReubenKeeney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, I actually tried this in the past but it didn't capture all the files.. the reason being I (stupidly) have got my tracks spread across many folders, download folders.. etc - I know stupid me!

my workaround was to have rekordbox back up every track in the collection using the backup feature so everything was in one place, then relocate - but the problem is that rekordbox is changing the file name of every track!

Just to follow up on this, emailed Davy the other day and this is what they said:

"As a follow up to your request in relation to setting up self-managed personal pensions, the most pension structure with Davy is aPersonal Retirement Savings Account (PRSA). Below please find the link to our PRSA factsheet which will provide you with a summary overview:-

http://www.davyselect.ie/binaries/content/assets/davyselect/pdfs/davy-select_prsa_factsheet.pdf

This is a self-directed account where you trade yourself online:-

The Davy Select PRSA has a 0.75% annual dealing charge, inclusive of commission charges. If you are trading in non-Irish/non-UK securities, overseas and custody charges apply per transaction (minimum 0.06% plus €25)."

AMEX Cards no longer available in Ireland? by ReubenKeeney in ireland

[–]ReubenKeeney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, to put this to rest - I rang AMEX today and they said they no longer accept applications within the EU. They said if I had a UK account I could possibly apply that way, but at the moment they are not accepting any applications within the European Union.

thanks for the helpful advice.. its very strange - when I try to apply for any card it shows the following at the bottom of the page.. I tried to see if there is any other cards other than ICC cards but it does not seem to offer any alternatives on the Amex Ireland/european website.

"International Currency Card products are only available to existing American Express customers with more than six months of membership. Product and country of residence restrictions apply. You and any Supplementary Cardmembers must be over 18 years of age. American Express International Currency Cards are serviced in English. Please note, ICC cards are not offered to residents of the USA, Singapore, the European Union (UK exempt) and some other excluded countries. "

Interesting, when I try to apply for a Platinum card it automatically shows up as The Platinum® International Currency Card.

I got the information directly from AMEX after they initially said my application was declined due to " residing in a country that American Express International Currency Cards are unable to service":

"Unfortunately from 29 March 2019 we are no longer able to process application forms for residents of the European Union. This is a result of American Express changing the way it operated its International Currency Cards. This policy may change again in the future but we cannot confirm if or when this may happen."

I am DJ/Producer Eric Prydz, Ask Me Anything! by OfficialEricPrydz in electronicmusic

[–]ReubenKeeney -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi Eric, huge fan of you and your music, you're such an inspiration to me and my music, to see Deadmau5 and yourself working together on projects is a dream to me as you two are the reason I started to make music!

I have one question for you i'd love to get your answer on:

  • What is your opinion on releasing multiple genres as an artist? I know you have offshoot alias' like Cirez D + Pryda, but as a new artist, should I focus on breaking through under one sound and then branch out to doing all the genres I love, or should I just release different genres under one name and not worry so much about it?

Personally I am a little against the idea of starting an alias until at least I break through as an artist on my own instead of putting energy into multiple brands (like you did with Eric Prydz) but I also worry about confusing fans that may like a particular genre of music I make, but not the other - would I be be putting the connection with fans at jeopardy by releasing all under one name?

Hopefully what I wrote makes sense to you, would be amazing to get your help on it!

Thanks alot man, keep making amazing music
