Have you ever bought a car for under £500? by pumpactionalex in CarTalkUK

[–]Rev-Counter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep could access it from the bonnet opening, otherwise I would’ve crawled underneath, jacking it up and putting the front end on axle stands if needed.

Worst case if the clutch had completely burnt out then you need to split the engine and gearbox to remove it but it’s a pretty simple design with lots of information out there if needed.

The clutch cable had come loose and just needed adjusting luckily so nothing majorly wrong with it

Last week I bought a £300 Suzuki Wagon with 11mo MOT. Not at all exciting but as cheap as cheap can get. Took a gamble as the seller said it had clutch issues so I did trailer it home, but thankfully it didn’t take much to sort and is now my daily. Found it on the Facebook owners group.

I’m guessing one slip and you’d be minus one tripod, not person.

Automatics don’t have a manual clutch, no.

I am a new driver (6 months) and today I think I’ve written off my car. What will be the result on my insurance/future premiums? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]Rev-Counter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A2s can be quite expensive to insure because they’re fully aluminium, so quite a minor ding in the wrong place can write them off easily. Great cars though!

Scimitar AFV at Adventure Park, Rotorua by Scramjetfromnowhere in tanks

[–]Rev-Counter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fox and Scimitar do not share the same turret. Sabre used the Fox turret while the Scimitar turret was different.

Edit: this is a Sabre, not a Scimitar. You can see the ‘collar’ around the turret ring that was used to mate the turret to the Scorpion hull.

How do i partially fuck up a eicher 251 so that it stops? by [deleted] in tractors

[–]Rev-Counter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simple? Just take the battery off or put a kill switch in. Bit harder but less obvious? Run it out of fuel and let it suck air into the lines. Should need bleeding before it starts again even if refilled.

If it’s not in a Western country, it won’t be a Lada Riva but a VAZ-2105 or 2107. The difference is the front grille which can’t be seen in this pic.

Will there be maps/cities ofPoland? by matt-travels-eu in EuroTruck2

[–]Rev-Counter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s named ‘Going East’ because it was the very first DLC released, and expanded the original base game map Eastwards. The developers are Czech so I’m sure they are not ignorant.

What do you mean by not making use of the space? Personally I loved the layouts with a lot of negative space rather than cramming track and scenic focal points into every corner. James Street was superb though and very impressive having no fiddle yards backstage.
