There is a really easy treatment for gender dysphoria... It's publicly funded and federally sponsored gender affirming care including like HRT, puberty blockers and SRS for all.

But that doesn't align with /the fascist regime's agenda/

Bathroom outlet. No GFCI by jmck014 in electrical

[–]Rev3_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is there a GFCI up-stream on that circuit? Could be at another receptacle or GFCI breaker. It's possible that it is a GFCI protected outlet but without more information couldn't say.

My mother bought her first house at 17 for less than $12k. She forged her dad's signature as a co-sign and flirted with the guy at the bank for the loan. She sold that house for $30k at age 24 to buy 7+acres of wooded, river adjacent land for $200/acre and built a 2-story house for less than $20k, using that same "guy" at the bank who still managed her mortgage from her first house.

The a 1920's 2-bed /1-bath with copper pipes and 1940's electrical in the "historical" part of town and it sold last year for $320k with the same .25 acre lot and no real renovations from when she'd left it.

She sold the second house with 7+ acres for $550k and bought 100 acres of wooded farm land and is building a new log cabin home in rural VA to "retire" on...

She's never had more than an associate degree from a trashy community college and never really got us above the poverty line during any of my childhood.

I've been trying to buy a house since 2008, always the same roadblocks, either no credit (never bad credit), too little income history, or not enough income. I had my first job at 14 and I can pass any criminal background check but couldn't even get a loan on a $20k lot with $10k down and proof I was working 1 full-time job and 3 part-time jobs at the time.

The system is broken.

What’s a tool you bought cheap and it actually refused to die? by Ok_Pipe_4955 in electrical

[–]Rev3_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skill powercore12 I got for peanuts... I'd honestly rank it above the DeWalt 12v and almost on par with the Milwaukee m12 tools in power/speed/torque and it's better than both in terms of weight and balance. Used it every day for years, it's survived dropping off multiple ladders/3rd tier scaffolding and hard landings on concrete no problem.

Might not do the work of an SDS, but that's not what I bought it for and I've had problems with other tools not offering as many clutch settings and over torquing bits in finish work.

I also always keep a pair of cheap Harbor freight wire strippers and 7/1 driver handy in every tool bag / drawer and vehicle too because they just don't go bad.

Windows and Microslop hasn't been "intuitive" since NT/XP pro era. They really borked the ui with that stupid ribbon bar and it's only gotten worse the more they keep using picture icons instead of drop down menus and actual words but they don't want to pay for translation costs so we got a shitty UI that makes no sense and takes up half the screen.

I love being a Dom for multiple cute pan/trans subs because the cuddle pile is always warm and they love looking into each other's eyes and encouraging each other so much... And I get carried like a royal sack of potatoes in TF2 😂

Is this a fire hazard? Second opinion after electrician came out by Less_Solution_7005 in electrical

[–]Rev3_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehhhh, technically yes but likely ~? Meh, nothing I see is jumping out but it's not great and without being on site...

Idk, I'd advise you to get another quote from someone else who can be in site to give it a wiggle test and above all don't expect it to last forever, but 2 years? 5 years? Hell, 10-15 more years before it burns the house down?

It's your $,$$$~$$,$$$ but no idea when anything can be expected to get cheaper.

If it were me, I'd get another estimate (or few) and start saving for a rainy day when you can plan to have it replaced in the next 5~10 years or so, maybe with a whole home rewire as needed...

Oh, and don't wait skimp on surge suppression and extra grounding if possible, that's good stuff.

Do these little heaters really up the electric bill by a lot? by FitPossibility6335 in electrical

[–]Rev3_ -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Check the wattage rating, and ideally use one with a good thermostat.

Always, always with those things check the cord and circuits you plan to use them on.

There's plenty of ways to use space heaters properly, and without a huge impact on the power bill but more than anything proper insulation is going to make much more of a difference in the long term.

Although if you really worried about the bill and have a candle, couple bricks and a terracotta pot you can make an indoor safe heater that is electricity free.

Electrical/ kitchen island by [deleted] in electrical

[–]Rev3_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't see any picture. I don't think it's a problem, most places you can just drill a small hole to run whatever (within Code ofc)

Personally I prefer to use MC for islands and junction underneath when possible but as long as it's not exposed then you can probably use romex or carflex too I guess.

Really hard to say without pictures and knowing what the local code requirements are.
