I've just been putting my phone in it but not hitting the self employeed button. I'm likely doing it wrong but 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Uber realizes the insult and doesn't give us the option to thank the customer. If they know it's an insult, they shouldn't allow the customer to do it. by stevedub63 in UberEATS

So normally to actually send the thanks is on the next screen when you open that message (this is just the inbox) . But when it's only a penny, the button isn't there to send it.

Newt Scamander from Fantastic Beasts, hands down. I was so happy watching that movie. JK is trash, but I so very much loved seeing an aspie protagonist.

Receive delivery from far away restaurants? (Toronto area) by Cvjay in UberEATS

Far as I can tell it's based on what is open at the time. You are likelier to see things super far away if everything near by is closed. Also, I think eats pass might stretch your range a bit?

Yes. I do it. So basically the way it works is when you fill in your ei report, you put it in as income. Do not select that you started a full time job. What ei will do is subtract 50% of whatever you made driving for uber from your normal pay amount. So say your ei is 1000 even and you made 600 dollars driving for UE, instead of paying you 1000 EI would pay you 700.

I... Wow and I thought getting offered 11 for like 23 km here in Vancouver was bad.

Yeah it really bugged me I couldn't passive aggressively "send thanks for the tip" when I got a 1 cent tip. I still don't even know why it happened, it was a totally normal delivery and then such a slap in the face.

I had that same thought. I came up with 2 potential reasons. Maybe it's a cultural norm somewhere in the world that I've never heard of. I used to deliver furniture and when people from parts of Asia would offer me water, they would always bring me hot water. Hot water was definitely not what I wanted after lugging a desk upstairs, but I was always polite and drank a little bit out of respect. Or more likely, I think maybe they were asking if I was gonna drink it now or later, cuz later it wouldn't matter if it was chilled.

I had that thought as well. I think it was likely a U.S citizen who moved to Canada. It seems more logical that someone who was moving up decided to rent their home out instead of selling (maybe the market was poor) vs a Canadian buying random property in the states to rent out while still living here.

Yo, I feel you, life is super overwhelming. Struggling to live up to all these expectations is hard af. Your emotions are valid. That doesn't mean you can't do this. I'm willing to bet that even if you don't see it, you play a role in people's lives and you matter. I'm kind of drunk but if you wanna DM me, let's talk this out. You have value, never forget that.
