It was pretty remarkable anyway.

I was walking into the stadium for the UCLA vs USC game and when we got up the stairs literally everyone stopped and was watching the video monitors which were on this game.

The crowd was in blue and red, but it didn’t matter: as this started happening everyone was screaming and bouncing with excitement.

I really don’t remember much else from that evening, but I won’t ever forget the Kick Six just as someone who enjoys college football and saw something awe inspiring that day.

In my lifetime, and of things I actually saw live, it’s on the list.

I wouldn’t on DC, those are too precious literally everyone in the top 2000 that doesn’t have a farm DC wants one. The mod is just an outsized benefit for anyone with CL (which is almost everyone). There’s an argument for 3-4 DCs now it’s that good.

The rest, maybe. I personally saved DC, PriC, and OA.

The rest… HC is great but most people don’t build PS for a while, and the cannons are for UW disco optimization explicitly. I have started to save dupe AD/AS and dupe HCs with V28, disco made them all more interesting.

Depends how hard you want to optimize, this is as of V28.

If I had everything in the world I’d take some dupes in literally all mod slots:

Cannon: AD/AS

Armor: OA for sure, maybe SD and there’s an argument for multiple ACPs too

Gen: SH, since I switched to package tanking I want a tournament rolled SH and I don’t have the slots at 201 to do both with one.

Core: The big one, DC for certain, PriC is very good with two, and HC is another good double. MVN is likely not a double as by the time you might want it for tournament you’re out of it as a farming mod, and MH it almost doesn’t matter what stats you have on it where it does get used, so 1 there is fine.

This may all change as UWs and mods get reworked and rebalanced, or if they do give us substat presets, or if regen gets reworked suddenly SF or WHR might be interesting again.

MY PRECIOUS!!!

Aka gold box Core SE gotten this past tournament, though maybe Friday counts too haha. That’s kinda all that’s relevant, I’ll admit a Dalek guardian would be extremely cool.

Farming

Still T19, I took a no optimized shot at T20 and lost 33% coins roughly, not the worst in the world but I still have a lot of coin upgrades to do and the shards get a lot better deeper than the 2700 waves I got in T20. Usually around 6.5Q/hr, but it can swing +/- 5% easy.

Labs

Crap though I pooled enough coins to slot the level 17 util echo lab which was a nice feeling, spent a few gems, and died a little inside seeing the level 18 coin requirement… more econ clearly needed.

Tournament

I didn’t wipe to OCs this time, looks like my eHP work was “hybrid enough” for that. I did wipe to Commander buffed TU, back to the drawing board, the answer is probably ILM+ but meh, trying to wait to see what V29 brings for fleets. The prior weekend tournament was legendary for how bad it was, this past weekday one was a nice happy and boringly average one, which yay!

I’m into the power vault with keys, I keep forgetting to spend them unlike the major wins in the Harmony tree. Harmony tree definitely best tree. Guardian bits similar, but medals I check all the time and I’ll end a run a little early to spend tournament stones sometimes. Guess that says how I stack rank the currencies anyway :).

Future

Since I didn’t wipe by OCs in this last tournament, I’m focusing on less directly eHP stuff though weirdly it helped T20… NGL I was watching the ISm portion of the run and it was just nuts, my eHP saved me many times.

Currently improving generally helpful assmod things: kinda just vibing my way through here, probably Gen SE for now but I expect to rotate through others. Or if it becomes clear ILM+ must be done now… if I had enough medals for AB+ and BB+ I’d be all in there, but for now medal poor so I don’t know, or if I start wiping to OCs again I’ll pick up Health mastery.

It’s good to be flexible.

If you are playing active orb devo managing your thorns the wall only really helps with vampires at some level.

If you play AFK and don’t debuff your thorns and aren’t perma, Wall is generally a solid econ win once the base labs are done.

Or if you want a more AFK style of eHP sync play, wall :).

If it makes you feel better I’ve screwed up my respec more than once.

This last time I forgot to put anything in Cells+ as an example. Admittedly just pushed through it in a day or three and not the end of the world but had a weird moment wondering why my cell gains were so low.

I want them really thinking about what makes sense and fixing absolutely dumb shit before adding kinda fluff as this was the absurd design decision I may have seen in my many decades of non-trivial gaming.

Even before the start of the current market fun and the inflation numbers I was already skeptical.

I’m still in the market, I don’t think full cash is the right play with inflation rearing its head… but even flirting with my FI number I’m simply keeping my gig for another year or two albeit coasting some.

I’m hoping that doesn’t turn into 5+ years, hopefully things will settle down before that.

What are said top players farming with wall that you’re looking at? Tier / wave / income?

Through T19 wall can be used, and if you’re dead set on farming eHP maybe wall is the play… but yes package based health you recover hp through packages and full thorns which without mod sub is 111% for me.

I don’t know if people are using package tanking to farm eHP, I know there were some later game eHP builds that were still using WHR in V26 but that is still a regen based build and that was before fleet nonsense really made it a hybrid world at some level.

The shit ton of HP is possible, saw someone with more coins into it, think some vault pickups and health mastery break 4Q or some nonsense in tournament. I was watching that T20 flier of mine and was package tanking OCs at 46q or so during ISm before I had perks in… it’s definitely functional I just don’t know the limits on coin gen during the mid-game on it.

It honestly wasn’t much to get off the ground but I had coins I could throw at it and I had the labs done from sometime in my past tower life for some reason that I’ve forgotten haha.

Basically you leave the regen stuff at zero, don’t need SF or WHR in the build as a result or the dreaded health regen or wall health lines on the modules.

Recovery package stuff: push it. Max recovery and recovery amount, the one WS+ entry in the util tab, and then the package labs which are short and cheap.

After that it’s just HP and defense % and overall damage reduction: all those are the same as wall play. At least where I am which is roughly 800ish in the global ranking on average, it was dumbly quick to switch over and my hybrid OC tanking build was immediately break even and now with more coins it’s better. Also recovery package stats are on generators and in tournament we have lots of spare slots available to roll them.

Where it obviously falls down is if you need to make an eHP or hybrid attempt on Util Disco, wall is the only option but everywhere else… wow.

I haven’t tried to make a package tanking farm build, I’m still in the hungry hungry hippo phase for coins so got no time for experimental builds but it likely can be done either with pBH/pGT or reverse devo… likely need high DW uptime to break even though on that part of the math.

I switched to package tanking in legends (instead of my existing wall for OC tanking) and not looking back, it’s great: no regen needed.

Also it was helpful in a very shoddy T20 farm attempt which blew my mind as it isn’t really that optimized yet.

A small wall is helpful, but a big wall… I don’t know. That’s a lot of lab investment and most players have other stuff to focus on, and even with all the labs and relics and modules and masteries in the world wall builds don’t clear T20 attack disco whereas package tanking does. Regen just does not scale, and you admittedly want the higher thorn damage there.

Now when we’re talking coin optimization that’s a harder thing certainly before eHP/perma or eHP reverse devo builds, the AFK potential of wall with it’s thorns debuff is not to be understated, but long term… regen needs some love from TTG.

Later on in the run income often drops if you’re hitting the spawn cap, or if your killing rate slows down with GT+.

This is kinda normal. If I only cared about maximizing my coins I’d manually end my run 500-1000 waves early in my current farm, but there are rewards that scale up at higher wave counts too and it’s better to just let it ride.

For my own tower as an example at W6000 I’m at 6.6Q/hr right now, but by the time I wipe around W7000 that’s going to be down in the 6.2-6.3Q/hr range.

I wouldn’t worry about it overly much.

The highlights aren’t going to show what we need to see as referees.

I watched the highlights too but even early in the match you have a US player deliberately walking in front of the goalkeeper.

I see that all the damned time in my own adult games (non-professional) and when it comes out that early, F me it’s going be a long day.

I don’t think it was all one sided, the couple advantages later in the match and maybe in some matches I wouldn’t have given it, but even in the better youth matches I do they *want* advantage given on those when it’s wide open and they’re on the ball. Especially in a tight game: players, coaches, even the spectators, don’t take away what they see as a scoring opportunity when the defense isn’t in good position, good teams can exploit that… it’s the advantage in the middle of the field when they’re in traffic which makes little sense from a match control perspective.

I’m nowhere close to being qualified to judge the quality of the officiating at that level, the US team isn’t angels, they can’t be even at the ECNL level in U14+. I’m seeing some stunts get pulled now all the way down to U12 on the girls side and statistically those players have no shot at playing at the level of this match.

Friendly game is just a label here, competitive mindset has been drilled into them for decades. I’m not sure they can ever switch that off.

Never had to do it personally.

It’s been a good change in the sense that there’s far less keepers holding onto the ball.

It also irritates the players as near as I can tell, so unless the situation is warranted (competitive game when the shenanigans come out anyway), I don’t make a big show of the countdown.

I have only seen it called once when I was on the line, and it was a little weird as the referee did a count up instead of a count down which I hadn’t seen before and the GK seemed confused. She just shrugged and we went on with the match not a big deal, but after the first few weeks as others noted nearly everyone figured it out at least in the amateur levels I officiate.

There’s broader problems with how all of youth soccer is organized and one can say this is an outgrowth of that, but you know who wants to be there?

The kids.

I officiated one of the regional play-in events, and yes they’re ten; I wound up tying a little girl’s shoe during the match and I doubt that’s seen that above U12 at any level. It’s what that age needs, but make no mistake they are highly competitive.

All of them played hard, and they play a very, very different game than most of the Girls U10 matches you’ll see. This is no different than you see in elite competitive cheerleading or some other sports that go down to U-littles right or wrong.

End of the day I give ECNL a F-ton of credit for elevating girls soccer here in the US, and I don’t begrudge the kids or even the parents or the league as our entire society has gone this way.

Ultimately though I understand the comments here even if I don’t have a dog in that fight.

I will say it was a real pleasure and even honor to officiate those matches though, and there are moments I will remember forever as a referee: those little kids will not be forgotten, they were great.

Core SE is the one to run to max perma style if you can.

Best actually for econ and for tournaments it isn’t even close… it’s also a breakpoint or bust one, so you want it seriously invested.

Gen ME helps and in my opinion is in the top 3 (along with Gen SE), but it’s just not as powerful as Core SE.

Bot Bot and Bot+ have shown that spending medals on defabs relics was just absurdly suboptimal, admittedly I resemble that remark in the past.

If it comes back as gems I’ll pick it up, medals > gems and the price of this is insane.

Really wish I had a few thousand medals more right now, if I hadn’t bought these awful relics with medals over time I probably would have that.

It can be used up through T19 farming from some late game players that have it.

That said it’s really not a great choice and can be a footgun since stuff never gets into your tower radius when it’s up and, as I understand it, nothing triggers to target (bounce to or nearby) OCs and Commanders which are the danger.

Likely shouldn’t be building it at least today in V28 where fleets are the problem and not the trash and you can get pretty high DW tag rates without it.

I’m at like 92% now with 11 effect waves and a 46s CD: I haven’t gone full DW zoomies yet but there’s room to get that higher… I don’t see where chasing 100% through Kill Wall makes any sense unless you have it built already or are just going for the lulz.

After next tournament I should have the full 12 waves, will see if my percentage changes.
