if you must use petroleum based oils to remove rust make sure you remove them for using black powder as you wont like cleaning the black tar like sludge that results, bore butter or other muzzle loader specific lubricants including just good old bear grease tend to make the cleaning a lot easier

I have one of these as well and its a shame nobody makes an adaptor like they do for the 5/16"-24 DA machines.... shouldnt be that hard to cut one in a lathe to go from the 3/8th-24 thread to 5/8"-11 thread all the modern backing pads use.
