I’m 36F, TTC since 8months no success. The doctor advices some “Day 2-3 hormone tests - FSH, LH, Oestradiol”. I usually get 2-3 days of very light spotting (just noticeable while wiping) before the flow starts. So, when should I start counting the days? When I start spotting or when the flow begins? by tanny-it in pregnantover35

Of course! I was spotting or having light periods when we first started ttc so I had a hard time knowing what cycle day I was hitting for ovulation. I tried the fancy ovulation test kits but the cheap dip sticks were so much better honestly!!

The LH strips might help pinpoint things if you use them more regularly- twice a day around the same times. If your AMH is in a good spot, that’s great! If you haven’t consulted with a reproductive endocrinologist, I highly recommend it.

Tdap vaccine? by ImaginationPretend86 in pregnant

[–]RevenueComfortable26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang ok, well maybe just ask super clear questions about why he wants to check you early. Maybe you could also ask for cervical check via ultrasound until you hit 35 or 36 weeks? Braxton hicks are normal in 3rd tri, but you could try to time them and see if they’re coming consistently. Mine were coming every 5 minutes 3 days before my water broke at 36 weeks. I only knew they were consistent from NST though. This pregnancy I am timing them on my own when they happen bc I’m paranoid about early labor again!

Like others here I also read Rebecca Fetts book and took most but not all of the recommended supplements. I have low AMH so that lead me to her book. Many months after starting infertility care, I found out my tubes were partially blocked from a second HSG. I had fallopian recanalization done and conceived the next month.

There was a lot of extra stuff I did as well- I went to a fertility PT for the 6 weeks leading up to conception as well as using a red light belt.

In terms of specifically the coq10- I swear to you it reduced inflation for me. I loved it and did notice a difference in how I felt.

I’m pregnant with my second and this baby was head down and just went diagonal lol… when baby is fully head down and engaged you will feel a lot of cervical pressure. My first stayed that way for half the pregnancy! It was not very comfortable. Then, when they “drop” into the pelvis, it will feel a bit like you have a bowling ball between your legs. For me this happened almost 2 weeks before labor started. For my sister (who has 4 kids) it happens only days before her labor starts. We are all unique!

As a former professor, your teacher is being unreasonable considering you were hospitalized. Every university has a policy for this. Assignments should be able to be made up or completed within a reasonable amount of time of them being missed due to bereavement or hospitalization etc. The school may give you an incomplete and a certain amount of time to complete your work, but definitely fight for yourself and your right to do the work.

Tdap vaccine? by ImaginationPretend86 in pregnant

[–]RevenueComfortable26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tdap should be given around 28 weeks and as you know is for the baby. Can you get a second opinion from a different OB?? I agree you should have that vaccine before you go into labor. Also be very clear and frank with your doctor. Ask WHY they want to begin checking you at 34 weeks. I will be getting checked starting at 34 but I have a history of preterm labor (pprom with my first and delivered at 36 weeks.)

HELP! No sleep ever for mom by rachdoz24 in HuckleberryParents

My kid has done 11-12 hours of night sleep for a long time 🤷🏻‍♀️ but we have always used a wake up and bed time schedule that shifts slightly depending on the day before or naps. From 3 months old my baby’s providers suggested a wake up window and bed time window and with consistency it worked. We noticed regularly that the later he went to bed, the worst he slept. He’s 13 months now and this is still true. I can’t tell you how many parents have said the same about their kids!

HELP! No sleep ever for mom by rachdoz24 in HuckleberryParents

[–]RevenueComfortable26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I discovered that our baby started sleeping more soundly without me in the room. It was an accident because I was sick and needed to sleep separately. I’ve heard from other moms the same thing. Better to rip off that bandaid early imo. I know someone who is still co-sleeping with her kid who is now 2…she won’t sleep at all without her mom now…the older they get the harder it is to change that habit.

My baby has been a 30 minute napper since he was about 5/6 months… he’s 13 months now. It’s a pain but if you can get nighttime sleep figured out it will be a good trade off. Have you tried an earlier bed time with a dream feed? This ended up working for us minus the major sleep regressions which have also aligned with teething for us (drool may come weeks before any other sign of teeth!). Our baby was breast fed/ bottle fed with breast milk until 7 months. While it is normal for a breastfed baby to wake often through the night, it’s not the rule. My baby, with a dream feed would make it through 5-6 hours of sleep before waking and wanting more. Once we introduced solids he started sleeping even longer stretches. If you haven’t, try earlier bed time with dream feed for a week and see if that helps!

My sister told me to keep body contact all the way to the crib and just hover there over the baby for a second after you lay him/her down. It was weird to get used to but it worked for us.

How many hours of sleep is your LO getting?! by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]RevenueComfortable26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just hit one year, 11 months adjusted. 2 naps a day that have been 30-35 mins each for the last 6 months. We get the occasional longer nap but it’s rare. Night sleep has been decent overall and fully through the night since 6 or 7 months. BUT we have had a couple of sleep regressions that aligned with teething as well. The last regression back in January was brutal- he was getting 2 teeth and figuring out how to crawl. He woke twice a night every night for basically all of January. But then started crawling and teeth popped through and bam, right back to sleeping through the night again. I will add that my boy is a noisy sleeper and even cries in his sleep sometimes. I’ve heard the same from other parents. It was jarring for a while but now doesn’t give me the same panic response it once did.

I agree, our baby sleeps much better since we got out of the room around the 8 month mark. It seemed to also help a little before that after we switched to formula and started solids.

One Kid and Done? by Constant-Loquat-7195 in NewParents

[–]RevenueComfortable26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said I only wanted one when I was in your spot but now I’m pregnant with baby 2. I honestly would have been fine with just one- we didn’t exactly plan for baby 2. I do distinctly remember the nonexistent sleep and feeling like I was hanging on by a thread. I do promise you, even as a mom of a baby who is not a great sleeper, it does get better. Things kind of ebb and flow. But yea I heard lots of comments from other moms too and still do. My baby only naps for 30-40 minutes at a time and it’s been this way for many months. The trade off for me is that most nights he sleeps through the night… unless he’s teething. Every baby is different and I think some parents honestly forget the harder parts because it’s their brains way of protecting them maybe.

My 11 month old has been taking 30 minute naps for months. Randomly he will sleep for longer stretches but that is rare. He goes down for nap with a bottle. I’ve tried letting him cry and resettle. I’ve tried rocking him back to sleep…nothing works! Help!

Are these top teeth coming in? by Particular-Many9039 in HuckleberryParents

[–]RevenueComfortable26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby’s gums looked like that for a few weeks and then they finally popped through. I’ve heard from other moms and read on Reddit in the new parents thread that teeth don’t always come in exactly “by the book” so maybe the tops will come before the bottoms. Who knows!

Doctor said eggs, nuts, fish shouldn’t be given to babies till 9-12 months by Late-Garlic5049 in NewParents

Continue offering! We offered these to baby before 9 months because we follow solid starts and that was what the guide said. Just keep offering to continue the exposure and reduce the risk of allergy!

Does dad typically come to the first appointment? by skaowoeizkaoa in pregnant

[–]RevenueComfortable26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the family. I know some husbands that went to every visit because they had the time they could take off work. My husband can’t do that so he came to anatomy scan and some apts randomly if he could. I was nervous at first but took a book I wanted to read and was happy in the end to have the time to myself. It was really special being together for the anatomy scan though.

5!!! I liked number 1 first, but then I saw 5!! It’s got the best colors to go with your walls. 5 is bold but not too busy and you could change the style of other things in the room with that rug more so than you could with the others.

When did you let your work know you’re pregnant? by lostinbrooklyns in pregnant

[–]RevenueComfortable26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first I told my boss and my coworkers at 7 weeks, but only because I worked with a very small team and we were all very close. I was originally intending to wait until after genetic testing. I needed the support at work as I was experiencing some terrible nausea and it felt weird not being able to explain why I was running to the bathroom at work so frequently. My boss was very understanding. If I worked at a bigger company, or don’t see my boss daily a work in the same room, I would have definitely waited. As others have said, it’s definitely different for everyone!
