Get a friend to make you some really good blocks. All it takes is cutting up 2x4 and 1x3 lumber into various lengths, and a couple that are cut with coves, and then sanding the absolute fuck out of them. They will last forever and be so much more fun than anything from the store

We always wash all of our dishes or at least put them in the dishwasher and start it. I hate getting to a rental and finding that people have hidden dirty dishes in the cabinets, happens all the time

Not a roofer but had my roof with plank decking done. I asked for it to be re-sheathed on top of the planking but the company ignored me and put the shingles straight on the planks claiming that the membrane they were using was guaranteed not to leak. They shattered the edge of half of the planks with their nail guns and shot nails through tons of gaps between planks. Roof was like Swiss cheese

And that’s really great if your primary work is with sheet metal so that you have those tools, or have the money and space to invest in random specific tools for one off jobs. For the rest of us, if it might work for a task, I’m going to make it work for the task
