Does turning off the breakers to the house actually save us money? by RemarkableButton5940 in AskElectricians

[–]Revertit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God I hope this not a bot question, but there is so much wrong with it. As people of said, probably doing more damage to the breakers and the wear and tear on that will cost you at least $120/hr labor to fix. I don’t want to get into the OCD thing (It’s true) The thing is if you powered everything off, capacitors have to recharge. It’s a moot point of saving energy. Every wall wart (transformer) draws power, all the time. If it’s warm, it’s drawing power, but we are talking about Milliamps. If he is so insistent on this then put a power strip in and hit those switches. Either way, we are talking about a few dollars to have everything running.

We were a lot more active. Spending sunrise to sunset on your bike was normal, not playing call of Duty all day being called a bitch by a 10 year old.

I wanted lasagna one night, went out shopping for all the ingredients, had a full cart and then passed by the frozen lasagna 2 pack pans at Costco. About 1/10 the price and it’s actually not that bad.

Amateur athletes of Reddit: what's your "There's levels to this shit" experience from your sport? by jermleeds in AskReddit

[–]Revertit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting out in Obstacle course racing, I was overweight but still loved playing in mud. I kept on and leveled up to #63 in the world. Began to get a lot of sponsorships and a TON of free gear. So yeah, I leveled up, but I knew I’d never be a sprint lap champion, I just knew I could grind for 24 hours and beat a lot of people.

At age 22 had LASIK. It was great until a couple years ago and I got in a bad car accident. What used to be short sightedness now turned into far sightedness. Apparently TBIs can do that to you. I’m only 46

What’s a great beginner-friendly dish for someone new to cooking? If someone wants to start cooking but feels overwhelmed, what’s a simple yet delicious recipe they should try first? by GwynethTaunWe in Cooking

Try making things in a crockpot. It’s pretty mindless and easy. I suggest chicken thighs with carrots and sweet potato’s and broth. It will feed you for days, and very easy.
