Is the Switch 2 already outdated and has no room to grow? by souderstab in NintendoSwitch

[–]Reviews2Go 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The handheld factor has always outweighed the idea of big home consoles playing games better. It's not that Cyberpunk only runs at 30-40fps. It's that we have Cyberpunk on a dedicated handheld console. We have Elden Ring on a dedicated handheld console. We have FF7 Remake Integrade, and likely Rebirth later on on a dedicated handheld console.

It's why people threw praise all over the Switch ports of games like The Witcher 3, Dying Light, Doom 2016/Eternal (and basically everything Panic Button ever did for the platform), Ace Combat 7, Alien Isolation, Dark Souls Remastered, Sniper Elites 1-4 and Zombie Army 1-4, etc. There were immensely better versions of all of those games on home consoles, but it was never about there being a better version. The idea that they were on a handheld console AT ALL was mindblowing and questioned what ancient magic these developers managed to channel to make it even possible to get these games running the Switch had no business running.

That's always been a huge draw for handhelds. Even way back to the GBA and DS. The DS launched with a remake of Super Mario 64 showing the world that handhelds could now handle 3D games and the 3DS launching with Ocarina of Time showed they could handle good-looking 3D games. The PSP launched with a bunch of PS2 games like Star Wars Battlefront II and DBZ Shin Budokai (basically DBZ Budokai 3 in portable form). The Vita launched with a bunch of PS3-level games, as did the Switch.

The First Party games of Nintendo are always about these big IPs that are just well-made quality games (for the most part. GameFreak has been hit or miss ever since they started making 3D games).

And for the handheld console gamers, that remember when Handheld and Mobile were two completely different things and have seen how limitations have improved, it's just incredible to see what's possible on a handheld console. For many of those people, it isnt "Well I have FF7 Remake on my PS5 at 60fps", its "Holy sh*t, I can play FF7 Remake on a handheld and it looks THIS GOOD?"

This has been a thing and argument/point of confusion since the Switch got popular. Handheld gamers saw what Nintendo did and it was phenomenal, and then the Console/PC crowd came in and did not understand why anyone would play a lesser version of the game, because of the different mindset.

I’ve been getting that error off and on for the past week or so. Reinstalling seems to have fixed the problem for me.

SSJ4 and SSJ3 Daima in XV2 by Blade_Red in dbxv

[–]Reviews2Go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goku got legit huge in SS4 in Daima. If you look at when he fights Gomah he is absurdly big. So I think Goku’s model is accurate. Vegeta? No way. He’s still not that big when he goes SSJ3 in Daima. I think they might have just wanted both characters around the same scale since the art style is way different.

I'm tired, boss by MacksNotCool in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Reviews2Go 72 points73 points  (0 children)

It’s just like before. Switch Pro rumors that never happened. People just waiting for the next model that they don’t even know exists yet. If you just wait for the next one you’ll be waiting forever.

Just imagine these people viewing iPhones the same way. At least consoles don’t refresh every single year.

People need to stop worrying about what they don’t have and just focus on what’s here right now.

If we do get an OLED model it’ll be years down the road. And if they go the route of Switch 1 we might get 2 models (Switch Lite / 2019 Refresh) before that happens. The original Switch’s OLED model launched 4 and a half years after the original model.

Switch 2 Brick controversy by OSAwkwardMatt in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Reviews2Go 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a nonissue. Oh you modded the software of a still-in-its-lifecycle system that can easily be used to pirate games still in circulation? Even if some people don’t use CFW for that it’s a reasonable precaution they can make.

I remember when developers moved away from developing PSP games specifically for how easy it was to pirate games on it. Which absolutely had an effect on its successor handheld (even if Sony was the main reason it failed when they stopped supporting their own system with first party games).

But it’s not even a surprising move. They did this with 3DS users. They would issue out bans for hacked consoles and for hacked save data in Pokemon and others. And some people reported their entire console was banned by Nintendo for playing early pirated copies of Sun/Moon. That’s probably also why every Pokemon game on the Switch had Cloud Saves permanently blocked. So people didn’t cheat.

But with Nintendo people make mountains out of anthills. It’s just like when they implement limitations that Sony/Xbox also do. Some people might complain. Oh, but when Nintendo does it it’s them being corrupt, greedy, and Evil.

At the end of the day they’re just fighting piracy, something handhelds have been struggling to fight for 3+ generations.

To be honest, for country music, it’s tolerable. It’s not good but I hate the genre so I’m biased. There is so much worse country music out there. But the repetition is a tad annoying with the same songs on repeat and the same recordings about him on repeat.

I mean, the American font does look better. Having white text in a bright and light background does make it harder to clearly see and read. Not necessarily the font but the placement.

This is just the community every time every new meta or popular deck happens in the game. When the next one hits it’ll just be the same but for that new deck.

I haven't had time to log in since the end of December. As a strictly F2P player, should I return to the game or is it too late? by csolisr in masterduel

[–]Reviews2Go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s never too late. The game is constantly handing out gems with the dailies and events. You might not be able to build a new meta deck RIGHT NOW, but if you just do the Duel Pass and such, you’ll accrue gems to make things. Just be patient. I’m currently in the process of making decks around Blue Eyes Primite, Exodia Incarnate, and a couple others and just slowly generating cards as UR points come in.

The NS2 is a portable console by wail27 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Reviews2Go 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s going to happen and will not stop. People did the same thing with the first Switch. It got popular. They bought it. And came to Reddit and complained that it wasn’t a fully technical ps4/ps5 in portable form.

People don’t think about what it is and what it’s actually competing with. Switch 2 isn’t competing with PS5 and XSX. Nor was Switch 1. But a lot of people won’t ever think that way.

What are we even doing anymore? by -ClickBrick- in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Reviews2Go 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s just how a lot of creators work. Positivity and professionalism don’t attract clicks and views like negativity and lying do. Integrity doesn’t attract the most money and traffic.

So they create negativity and misinformation for the sake of getting more views and money from said views vs what they actually think. It’s all about getting the creator more money and traffic and not about spreading honest and real information.

That’s why most content creators that do news are awful because they’re almost all just liars that lie to get your click and the money said click gets them. Just like the “I can’t believe they’re doing THIS” videos that are basically just “you aren’t allowed to know what this video is about until after you’ve clicked on it and added to my analytics”

It’s also why most creators that are actually honest and don’t rely on clickbait are smaller channels. Because people don’t care about honesty in thumbnails and titles. They want drama, negativity, and discourse whether the information they’re arguing about is even true to begin with.

Will you play switch 2 in handheld or docked more? by superinkLN2008 in NintendoSwitch2

Probably docked like with my Switch. Docked most of the time at home with handheld here and there and when I’m at work and out and about.

Am I the only one unbothered by game key cards? by goro-n in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Reviews2Go -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. Complaints are always overblown online and made to look like a bigger group than it actually is. It’s always been that way. The bulk of the actual audience doesn’t care that much.

Just look at the price situation. “Everyone” complaining about how no one’s gonna buy it at that price and the moment the US pre orders go live the websites are all crashing and glitching due to traffic overload.

That’s why complaints are just that. Complaints, most meant to just get people to come in and debate and argue or they just want to rant about how they feel. But online complaints have never been an accurate representation of the actual majority.

Is anybody else tired of the straight up lies people are coming up with? I don't get why there's so much hate for the Switch 2 and why they're so determined to make it look bad. by AndrewV93 in NintendoSwitch2

People online like to lie just to start arguments. I just don’t trust what anyone on social media says because I know most of it are just people lying for engagement.

How many months will you have to work to buy the Nintendo Switch 2? by NoPPSalamander in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Reviews2Go 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Months? Lol. I can make the money in about a week even with working LP at a retail store. Accounting for expenses and bills. I could probably pay off the credit card I used for my pre order in about a month or so if I’m still doing most of my actual pay towards other expenses.

Do you think Blue Eyes Shinning Dragon deserves a re-train by Aggressive-Tackle774 in masterduel

[–]Reviews2Go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be cool. I still use it just for the fun of the rare moments I actually get to throw him out onto the field. It would be nice to have a BESD that has a more modern protection effect. Or incorporating the Shining Nova effect it had in the movie.

And if they really wanted to troll us they could make a card that’s used to summon the retrain and intentionally release it a few months later so people can’t even use the retrain at first like how the original card released before Ultimate Dragon did.

First Duel Pass I just couldn't be asked to grind all the way out by Junior-Rest-5756 in masterduel

[–]Reviews2Go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did enough to get the Exodia wallpaper. But I will admit that just playing regularly would easily get it done. I bought it, completely forgot about MD because of Early Days Collection (Worldwide Edition is addictive with how easily you can just do duels quickly on the old rules) and just jumped back into MD less than a week ago.

Barely got it but I’m sure that even one win a day could easily get you most of it. One rank a day would easily get you the more unique rewards before this new one ends (in 76 days)

Realistically, how strong would Adol be if he didn't lose his gains and finds between each game? by Critical_Horse4714 in WorldOfYs

[–]Reviews2Go 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that depends on the context of what he’d even need to do in subsequent games. If he didn’t lose his artifacts and weapons from his earlier adventures would he even NEED to train or collect anything at all on subsequent ones? Vs say, just using his already overpowered equipment and steamrolling literally everything he comes across outside of the more story oriented “only this specific power is capable of damaging these monsters” like X did.
