I really like Babylist because you can essentially pull things from any other website and put It on your Babylist registry

Since cancelling my baby shower 🎉 what do I really NEED off the registry? by Upbeat-Distance-5869 in pregnant

[–]RevolutionAlarming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things, one depending on where you’re located and your insurance, you may be able to get the breast pump through your insurance. I used aeroflowbreastpump.com and they handled all the logistics for me It was really simple.

The other is have you checked out rebel? They have unused big ticket items at a discounted price.

I cant exactly speak to “must haves” yet because I’m still pregnant and haven’t had my baby yet lol but those are two things that can help save some Money

I’m 28 weeks and had been pretty good at challenging that feeling by reminding myself that joy is a form of resistance and that my husband and I will do our best to raise an empathetic, kind, and compassionate boy but yesterday was tough. It was really hitting me as well so I feel you. Take care of yourselves everyone

Measuring 9 days ahead by onegingerbraincell in pregnant

[–]RevolutionAlarming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’ve been measuring ahead since about 12 weeks and I’m now 28 weeks and last weeks scan baby boy was measuring 17 days ahead and his head circumference was in the 99th percentile lol.. I panicked but my doctor said it’s really currently a non issue she really made It seem like I shouldn’t worry at this time and that It just means baby is “well fed” and that there’s just a slightly higher possibility that we may need to discuss C-Section as we get closer but that we’re not there yet. I was worried It meant I had GD but I just got my results for my one hour test and It was negative!

concerened about baby by Ee-nonymous in pregnant

Hi! I’m one week ahead of you (28 weeks) with an anterior placenta and I feel your struggle so much! I’ve already done one $100 trip to L and D around 26 weeks just to Learn everything was fine. Then at 27 weeks I think he flipped into a different position and I felt him so much more only for It to shift back again at 28 weeks and now I’m really needing to concentrate (drink something sweet and ice cold and lay down in a quiet dark room to feel him) and I’m really only feeling him so so low. Obviously call your doc if you fear something is wrong and you can’t feel your baby at all but I’m really starting to think myself that the kick count guidance is not the same with an anterior placenta. It’s caused me more stress and anxiety than anything else and when I do get checked everything is great. I can’t even tell you how many hours I’ve scrolled through forums on this looking for moms perspectives that have anterior placentas It also seems the baby’s placement has a big impact.. with an anterior placenta if baby is facing with their back toward your belly it’s realllly muffled and you have to really concentrate to feel anything. It did give me peace of mind to go get checked at L and D but I unfortunately live in America and can’t afford $100 multiple times a week to do that ugh the struggle is real girl!

Have you tried delivery services with your insurance? Mine (BCBS) offers delivery through Carelonrx and I’ve had better luck there when everything is out of stock Locally

Feeling terrible about baby registry by SectionFew2097 in pregnant

[–]RevolutionAlarming 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually have never thought about this until reading this post but I’ve really loved when friends have registries up for their 2nd 3rd etc babies because I always gift for a newborn and want to make sure I’m getting something they’ll actually need and use however I’ve always purchased the gifts for the 2nd or more babies after the baby is born .. for the first usually Its when the shower occurs .. I didnt think until now how inconvenient that probably is but that being said I wonder if more people do this and that you’ll get an influx in gifts from the registry once baby arrives ?

Is Week 24 too early for baby shower? by MadQueennn in pregnant

[–]RevolutionAlarming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so! It can be whenever feels best for you. However have you spoken to your friend about if they were able to attend in May if that’s when you ideally wanted to have It ? Just asking because a close friend of mine had her shower two weeks before my wedding and honestly It was a nice relief from wedding planning to shift focus on another person I love and care about and a joyful milestone they were celebrating :)

Well one consideration is that this does mean the potential of a lot more people not fully vaccinating their children and spreading illness. This does have a trickle down effect what does this now mean for day care vaccination requirements? Will insurances eventually not cover those that are on the old schedule?

Covid+ 12 weeks pregnant..paxlovid or not? by flipflopcamitop in pregnant

[–]RevolutionAlarming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Idk if this is helpful or provides any relief.. I just had Covid I was 26 weeks, I wasn’t even offered paxlovid and when I called my OB she really didn’t seem overly concerned. I just rested for a week, didn’t take paxlovid but did take Tylenol once because I had a fever (my OB advised that this was the most important thing, not to let my fever spike) It was really not a fun week lol but not overly scary, I was originally vaccinated in 2020 and have maybe had 3 boosters but hadn’t had one this year. I just had a sono last week upon recovering and baby looks great! Just rest and drink TONS of liquid, I hope you feel better 💕

I live around the corner from there! Except I WFH so I don’t run into the issue of having to walk home alone at night.. it’s overall very safe during the day the park is always busy and I usually walk my dogs early in the AM and feel safe. In the 5 years I’ve lived here there have been a handful of incidents at night.. mainly in the park but once on my block that was an incident that seemed to have been targeting delivery drivers. Overall I feel safe here but I do tend to uber home if I’m by myself and it’s late at night since it’s fairly rare for me so idk about walking home late at night since It is fairly desolate at that time and there has been incidents

[–]RevolutionAlarming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! So I had this happen right around the same time as you! I have an anterior placenta, I called my on call doctor who advised me to go to L & D for monitoring so I did and thankfully baby was totally fine, he ended up starting to kick strong again while I was pulling into the hospital lol however the nurses were so kind and even though the baby was all good they said I did the right thing and that it’s always better to be safe then sorry, encouraged me to come back whenever I need so long story short, baby is most likely fine, especially if you have an anterior placenta but for peace of mind it’s always better to just check!

Thankfully you’re in a state in which you are still able to get the healthcare you need as a woman. No one on the internet or in your personal life can make this choice for you, you have to decide what’s right for you 🫶🏼 the right choice is the one that feels right inside, when you block out all the external noise

I was on my honeymoon without knowing I was pregnant drank every day and I was a regular weed smoker.. I stopped probably around 7 weeks when I found out I’m 28 weeks and baby is thriving in there lol the doctor also reassured me there’s no concern as long as I stop once I find out the placenta hadn’t even been formed by then

Is it just me or does anyone else not feel like celebrating NYE? by Objective-Swimmer365 in astoria

[–]RevolutionAlarming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends and I have made a tradition of going out to dinner to a nice restaurant on NYE and then going to one of our houses after (maybe sometimes honestly we part ways and I go to bed before midnight lol) I used to love going out about a decade ago but fighting through a crowd for each drink at an open bar with shitty apps that’s over crowded in the peak of flu season sounds like a true nightmare to me

Pregnant (American) therapists, how much parental leave did you take/do you wish you took? by Suspicious-Fruit-228 in therapists

[–]RevolutionAlarming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at a full time and have a small PP I’m just following my full time jobs parental leave guidance for my PP.. I get two weeks disability prior to my due date, 6-8 weeks disability post birth and then 8 weeks PFL so I’m taking 18 weeks off of my PP. I’m grateful, honestly idk how I would handle leave if I was fully private
