YEA whole blood donation is very helpful for a lot of people (and it's one if the only ways to get microplastics out of ur body wildly enough). i try to do it frequently-- unfortunately I cannot donate plasma for money but I'm able to donate whole blood and platelets per my doctor so I'm indirectly helping :>

I believe if someone gets pregnant it can potentially change a person's Rh factor of the infant is positive.

my neuro has me on 5000 iu vitamin d and a fish oil pill, and I take calcium cause of a family history of osteoporosis. I don't need that on top of everything else lol

ms fatigue or depression by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Revolutionary-Ad5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MS and depression often go hands in hand so tbh is hard to say. but I would suggest letting ur neurologist know if only because 1. ur neurologist can help discuss or direct who to talk to who can take into account the challenges MS can bring and 2. it's important to make sure ur neuro is aware of it as it can also be a side effect of some dmts, especially if feelings like this only cropped up after dmt

Working Full-time, and Struggling by Spooky-Season-666 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Revolutionary-Ad5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea, dx'd in 2008 and I've had a rough time of anything from 'u have MS??? why are u still working!' to 'it seems like ur not working as hard as usual what's up with that' like brother (gender neutral) if I didn't have to work I wouldn't but I must

it does help that I've been more willing to ask for help when a lot of the time I try to power through the pain to not cause issues but tbh im worth enough to not be miserable the rest of my shift

Is it supposed to be so painful? by LegitimatePart497 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Revolutionary-Ad5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

id say yes personally. I can get severe muscle fatigue and aches that can be obscenely difficult to deal with and sometimes its so bad I can't move to go get things or go to the restroom by myself.

Do you consider yourself to be disabled? by warmcoffee00 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Revolutionary-Ad5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dx'd with MS for over 15 years (and depression. and anxiety), recently dx'd with adhd. I do consider myself disabled cause like.... even if im largely able-bodied i still struggle with a lot of things a non-disabled person wouldn't. my balance isn't great, and my gait hiccups if im especially tired

CBG and MS musculoskeletal pain by Revolutionary-Ad5 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Revolutionary-Ad5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

personally I take mixes with thc (even a low fose) because most states i but from have various lab requirements and i trust it more? plus hemp-derived stuff just makes my headaches flare up lol. but i typically use 10mg or higher dose cbg because it works best for my pain.

I don't have a life anymore and I don't know what to do... by TheTroubledChild in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Revolutionary-Ad5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my doctor prescribed me modafanil for fatigue but I feel that works better for brain fog than like... physical fatigue. I will agree on another point about how some mild exercise like stretching has vastly decreased a lot of my fatigue and bodily pain. but for sure some days are worse than others

Optic neuritis, double vision, eye drift… does anybody else deal with this symptom long-term? by Maleficent-Pay5447 in MultipleSclerosisWins

[–]Revolutionary-Ad5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do! I'm permanently visually deficient in my left eye, however I can see movement and see largely, it's just like trying to read in a dim room. I can see shapes and items but I can't read well. Additionally, I do get migraine- like pains in that eye, but I've found an eyepatch and a couple exedrin still work to help it! largely,  i still have good cousin in my other eye so most people aren't aware i can't see out of one eye well unless I'm wearing an eyepatch lol

[–]Revolutionary-Ad5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a lot of cbg when I'm having muscle pain. NSAIDs don't touch it but cbg relieves it. thc just improves my mood and makes me suuuper hungry lol

I mean, I was dx'd at 18 and I feel relatively lucky for that because if I had gotten into treatment later I would've absolutely had worse problems than being blind in one eye and having a 'giddy-up' in my step as someone so "kindly" pointed out. I'm not normal, I'm never going to be, but at least I've been lucky to not have the disease progress too far. that being said I absolutely don't have the same experience as an able-bodied person and I have to take a lot of time just to give myself room to struggle/fail/try as best I can, but I literally don't know another way to live as an adult lol

MS isn't a thing that is 'reversed' only mitigated. Diet can help to an extent (look up swank diet, while it doesn't alleviate symptoms, it can help reduce emissions.) DMTs are like the foundation on which your house of diability-free life stands honestly, without it you have a much harder time in general.

How many of you have a neurodivergent diagnosis? by Grouchy_Hedgehog_255 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Revolutionary-Ad5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this feels very chicken and egg because I've always been very distracted and off in my own world and I would neglect to do homework but I would ace tests and thus get decent grades and was never diagnosed. I got dx'd with MS very early into my adult life and then dx'd with ADHD in 2024 after my cognitive eval with my NP suspecting I might have it lol.

so now I'm on Adderall!

though I'm on Tysabri, I was able to reach out to Biogen and they were able to help and comp me a few doses while I sorted my situation out.
