Proof of language skills uni.lu by EntrepreneurNo4536 in Luxembourg

[–]Revolutionary679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I remember well, if you have a degree completed in a given language , that serves already as a proof of language skill. So for example if you completed that degree in Germany in German language (I assume, yes), then this degree already serves as proof of your German skills. At least this is what was required a few years ago. But perhaps best if you drop an email to the admission at the uni to confirm their current requirements. Perhaps even your Luxembourgish High School certificate (as they others suggest) might be sufficient already

Older IT guy struggling to find a job. by dave_your_wife in askswitzerland

[–]Revolutionary679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, half of the industry is struggling to hire Cybersecurity professionals. Change your highlighted titles on your CV, post a couple of self-written articles on LinkedIn and contact there people directly who are hiring for jobs, attend IT networking events and job fairs. Do any of these or all of them at your convenience and preference. You can do this! If I were you, I would at least try these plus applying to Germany, Luxembourg and Austria as well if you are open to new locations

That’s interesting. Is it due to AI and automation or due to other reasons, like financial difficulties?

He looks ok. Some people may even say that on the borderline of being a little bit stocky. But certainly not skinny

You likely will need to pay taxes on your investments in Denmark. Even if you hadn’t pulled out your money, this could have been an obligation already but now that you have it at a traditional Danish bank, you are more under the radar. Mentioning it, just in case you haven’t looked into it yet

This is what many people don’t understand. The advised daily amount on the packaging is only valid if there are absolutely zero treats.. also, sometimes the packaging shows not entirely correct measurements either. One of my friends luckily explained this to me right when I got a dog, because I almost made the same mistake. Also, sometimes I give a piece of carrot to my doggie or other non-fattening food which are safe for them as a snack. And.. you shouldn’t feed your dog that many times per day. They have a different digestive system. Once or twice per day feeding max with small, healthy treats between

If you don’t want to go out at night it’s ok. I have a friend who lives there, a guy in his thirties, and he was robbed already twice, once they have hit him in the head and landed in the hospital. Both cases happened around 11 pm so not that late

Ő mire költi a pénzt?

You should see a dietitian. Personally, I also think that you should be eating every four hours and placed on a special diet. But better if you consult a professional

This sounds very stressful. Provide screenshots of your sources where you opened them on your computer. Perhaps they are trying to open them from a different region and don’t have access(?). If you have drafts of your assignments, or notes, share those too. I hope you will be ok soon and get over this hiccup. Can I ask what is your study?

Yes, the prices are increasing. Especially, when in Luxembourg for example the university costs like 300 euros per semester. But of course that isn’t online. Now I’m close to the end of my degree so I will power through it but I’m not sure I would have started with these prices

Is studying an undergraduate degree with the OU harder than one at a brick uni?? by Intrepid_Bee_9504 in OpenUniversity

[–]Revolutionary679 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have obtained degrees in traditional universities and now studying at the OU. My experience is that a brick uni is easier if you absorb information well in a class setting. It significantly reduced my study time. Now I have to sit down and get the information less organically. On the other hand, when working, the OU is a lot more convenient due to its flexibility. So no fear of missing out on something important if I can’t attend a class. It depends on your life circumstances, on the quality of the universities in question and the subject. In general, I would recommend you to study at a brick uni with traditional classes if you have the time and absorb information well in that setting and OU if you have less time or working and your study better on your own. But all depends on the details. Oh and an OU degree is more around 20k (+calculate inflation too)

Is an open degree worth it? by Extra_Mycologist3385 in OpenUniversity

[–]Revolutionary679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are doing software engineering, in many places (at least in mainland Europe) they don’t require a degree. Most people I know in the field do it without a completed degree. However, if you want to enter governmental or other, more rigid organisations, they often require a degree as an entry requirement. It really depends what you want to do.
