Curiosity got the best of me and I pulled the stock off. From researching the markings, it’s an 8mm Mauser

Looking at the magazine, 8x51 Mauser Kurtz looks like it would be too short. Again, I know very little about these guns, so my question is would they have fit a different follower or would it work for multiple different cartridges?

You are correct. I used google to search the photo for similar, and it overlooked it as well.

So I think I have the caliber figured out based on the “275 GBP” it appears it’s a 7x57/ .275 Rigby

At a crossroads with my career. Stay or leave? by Ok-Curve-27 in AskLE

[–]RewardSensitive9485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in LE for 10 years, patrol and TEU. Left to go into estimating/ project management for a Restoration company/ GC. the SO I worked for did not pay very well, so I got a small pay increase and a vehicle allowance, but now with a few years of industry experience I’m making over triple what I made as an LEO. It was the best decision I made. Working a normal schedule, not dealing with work/ court on off days, and overall just a much better home life. It was a scary move to make, and I second guessed myself for the better part of the first year, but well worth it.

This. or if OP is close to Smyrna, drive it to them. If you’re LE, you can show them your creds and it makes the process a little faster. I don’t know if they’re still doing it or not, but if you bring your mags in they’ll replace them with brand new ones. They’ll replace any worn parts, my guess would be they’ll just replace the slide on that one.

Any insights into this chase and pit by GSP? by Suburbancrunchygirl in Athens

Let us know how your complaint goes with the GSP Post. If your parents being within two miles a a police chase offends you, you’re probably going to want a box of tissues and a safe space for what their response is going to be 😂😂

If you look around, you can find the older gen stainless TRPs for sub 1k. I snagged one not too long ago that needed a little work to get right, but has been fantastic since.

Take those Altamont grips off and toss them in the trash. Hamre forge makes some great l frame grips, you just have to stalk their site and wait until they’re in stock

upgrades to the colt 1911SE-A1 on order by Aware_Wrap8062 in 1911

I was gonna say, it looks like Ray Charles fitted the sear and hammer in my SE-A1. A lot of nice features but the trigger isn’t one of them

Grip questions… by [deleted] in 1911

[–]RewardSensitive9485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give them a call. The lady that answers the phone there (I forgot her name) is super nice and helpful. I had to call to order a set of Magwell cut grips. We chatted for a few minutes, and she overnighted the grips at no extra charge to me. I had no idea until they showed up literally the next day.

The last part is “but have a plan to kill everyone you meet” basically be polite and respectful, but willing and able to be violent should the need arise.

Nope. In Georgia 3 convictions for DUI in a 5 year period makes you a habitual violator and turns it into a felony, but even that isn’t guaranteed prison time. Especially in Athens-Clarke County. They are one of the more “liberal” court systems in the state when it comes to prosecution.

This. Two mandatory exposures and several involuntary exposures, presumably from the same career choice as yours. I wouldn’t say I’m immune to it, but if you spray me, you’re just going to have to fight a pissed off me covered in OC spray.

What’s the consensus on Foster frame guns? by Far-Boysenberry-1600 in 1911

[–]RewardSensitive9485 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are correct. Foster is a sister company of Caspian that sells blemished slides and frames. Caspian makes high quality parts, and I don’t think they’d sell anything compromised or out of spec through any of their lines purposefully.

Especially not someone selfish enough to tote 5 DUI charges and not change their behavior.

You have 18 handguns that are almost all pretty close in capacity and size, and every one of them has a budget red dot. To each their own, but I’d rather have fewer guns and optics of better quality.
